Drew Shore: Hangs up skates
Shore announced via social media Tuesday that he is retiring from professional hockey
Shore logged four games for the Hurricanes this season, the first time he found himself back in the NHL since 2016-17 when he was with Vancouver. In all, the 30-year-old center logged 98 games over the course of his six-year NHL career with stops in Florida, Calgary, Vancouver and Carolina.

Since then, he's played the last three seasons in the Swiss league and KHL, so the transition back to the North American game may prove to be a bit of an adjustment for him. Shore will likely spend this season in the AHL provided he clears waivers.

Shore signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday.
The deal will pay Shore $700,000 in the NHL or $150,000 in the AHL for the 2020-21 season. Shore spent the past season in the KHL, racking up four goals and 27 points across 43 games. The 29-year-old last played in the NHL in 2016-17 when he logged 14 games with the Canucks and tallied a pair of assists. Shore agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Kunlun Redstar (KHL) on Thursday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.
Shore was playing with Zurich SC in the Swiss league before making the move to the KHL's Chinese club. The 27-year-old last played in the NHL in 2016-17 when he logged 14 games with the Canucks and tallied a pair of assists. At this point, the Denver native is unlikely to get another look in the NHL.

Drew Shore: Returns to Swiss league
Shore has signed a two-year contract with Zurich of the Swiss-A league, Ben Kuzman of the Vancouver Province reports.
The former University of Denver standout averaged nearly a point per game for Koloten HC in Switzerland this past season, and he tried to pump some life into his NHL career by inking a contract with the Canucks in mid March. However, he managed just two assists for his only points through 14 games in a bottom-six role. Obviously, there's nothing to look at here from a fantasy hockey standpoint.

Shore signed a contract with Kloten of Switzerland's National League A on Friday, TSN reports.
Shore was a second-round (44th overall) draft pick by the Panthers in 2009. The hulky center recorded nine goals and 15 assists in 80 NHL games split between the Panthers and Flames, and now he's set to play overseas for the first time in his career.
