Vincent Lecavalier: Officially retires
Lecavalier announced his retirement from the NHL on Tuesday, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Lecavalier hangs up his skates after 17 years of service time in the NHL. The former first overall draft pick (1998) helped the Lightning to a Stanley Cup in 2004 and a 108-point campaign in 2006-07. He also had stints with the Flyers and most recently, the Kings, including modest offensive contributions in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. A hulky center known for absolutely blasting shots, Lecavalier finishes with 421 goals, 528 assists, and 848 PIM in 1,212 career games.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Still plans to retire
Lecavalier confirmed Sunday that he still plans to retire, ESPN.com reports.
The first overall pick in the 1998 NHL Draft, Lecavalier spent 14 seasons in Tampa Bay, then signed with the Flyers before the 2013-14 season. He was traded to the Kings midway through the 2015-16 campaign, after being demoted to healthy-scratch status in Philadelphia. Lecavalier did manage 17 points in 42 games with Los Angeles, so it's possible he changes his mind and comes back for another season. If not, he'll retire with 421 goals and 528 assists (949 points), with all but 75 of his points coming in a Tampa Bay uniform.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Scores in losing effort
Lecavalier scored the Kings' lone goal in a 2-1 loss Saturday.
Lecavalier had a resurgence with the Kings this season, and was the lone King to score against Martin Jones on Saturday, breaking Jones' shutout bid late in the third period. Lecavalier also won 69 percent of his faceoffs, but still couldn't do enough to lift the Kings past the Sharks.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Returns quietly Saturday
Lecavalier (undisclosed) returned to the lineup Saturday, but went without cracking the scorebook in the contest against the Oilers.
The veteran logged 10:29 of ice time in the contest, finishing with a minus-2 rating for the game. He should be good to go moving forward, but hasn't really done enough (15 points in 35 games) with the Kings to warrant ownership in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Game-time call Saturday
Lecavalier (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's matchup with the Oilers, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.
Lecavalier missed Thursday's game against the Jets with an undisclosed issue, but was able to participate in an optional skate Friday, which was the first indication he may be available for Saturday's matchup with Edmonton. If the 35-year-old forward is ultimately unable to go Saturday, Nick Shore will likely draw into the lineup in his absence. Expect an update on Lecavalier's status ahead of puck drop Saturday evening.

Lecavalier was held out of Thursday's contest but seems like a likely bet to rejoin the lineup Saturday given his presence at the Friday skate.

Lecavalier will not play against Winnipeg due to some minors knocks, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports
Lecavalier was described as "a little banged up," but is not dealing with anything serious and could return Saturday versus Edmonton. The veteran has been solid for the Kings this season, as he has registered eight goals and seven assists since making the move out west. This could be a case of resting the 35-year-old to ensure he is healthy and ready to help the team make a deep playoff run.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Continues hot streak in win
Lecavalier recorded an assist and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Stars.
While Lecavalier is still averaging under 10 minutes of ice time each game, he has been on a bit of a hot streak of late. In this last six games, he's tallied three goals and two assists. This is surely a welcomed sight for the 35-year-old, as he only tallied nine points in the 29 game preceding the streak that he's currently on.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Notches fifth goal as King on Tuesday
Lecavalier notched his fourth power-play goal in 11 games since joining the Kings in a 6-2 win Tuesday against the Coyotes.
Lecavalier's seen plenty of usage on the power play since joining the Kings, and those four man-advantage tallies represent the majority of his offensive output in his new digs. He's got a three-game point streak going now, but rarely skates more than about 13 minutes per game, so the 35-year-old pivot isn't likely to see a jump in production unless an injury to Anze Kopitar or Jeff Carter forces him into a bigger role.

Kings' Vincent Lecavalier: Scores third goal in three games
Lecavalier scored a power-play goal Tuesday against Dallas in a 3-2 win.
Lecavalier now has three goals in three games, all of them on the power play. At 35 years old, Lecavalier isn't very mobile any more but still has a very good shot, something Darryl Sutter obviously recognized and has utilized to good effect so far. All of Lecavalier's goals have come in a Kings sweater, and also played center Tuesday against Dallas. His hot streak is unlikely to last, but count Lecavalier as yet another veteran who has found new life under Sutter.
