Colton Orr: Puts an end to NHL career
Orr has retired from the NHL, the Canadian Press reports.
Orr was the prototypical enforcer, racking up 1,186 PIM in just 477 career games between the Bruins, Rangers, and Leafs. Using a fourth-line forward exclusively as a fighter is a diminishing strategy for NHL teams these days, but Orr happened to play in an era where it was relished by fans and coaches alike.

Leafs' Orr Skates
Orr (leg) skated Wednesday for the first time during training camp, Mark Masters of TSN reports.There's no word yet on when he'll be able to return fully, but it doesn't look like the injury will keep him out of the beginning of the regular season at this point. Orr Skates With Leafs
Orr (leg) skated before Saturday's practice and stayed on the ice for his first full workout of training camp once the rest of the team joined, TSN's Mark Masters reports.Orr was originally expected to miss about a week with a bruised leg bone, and this return puts him almost exactly on that timetable. The guess here is that he won't play in Saturday night's preseason game against Buffalo, but he should be fine to get in a couple of games of preseason work before the real games get underway....
