Reto Berra: Signs with Swiss club
Berra agreed to terms with NLA Fribourg-Gotteron on Tuesday, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports.
Berra will return to his native Switzerland after spending the bulk of the 2017-18 campaign with AHL San Diego. The netminder went 16-12-0 with a 2.66 GAA in his 32 outings for the Gulls. The 31-year-old last played overseas in 2012-13 for Biel HC and likely has seen the last of his days in North America. In total, Berra logged 76 NHL appearances in which he registered three shutouts, a 2.85 GAA and a 20-36-4 record.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Promoted from minors
Berra was recalled from AHL San Diego on Tuesday.
The Gulls failed to qualify for the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs, so Berra was available to provide some additional depth for the Ducks. Both John Gibson and Ryan Miller would need to sustain injuries in order for the 30-year-old Berra to start during the playoffs. The netminder will be an unrestricted free agent after the season and may want to sign elsewhere, as he likely won't get a chance to even fill the backup role for Anaheim next season.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Sent down Wednesday
Berra was reassigned to AHL San Diego on Wednesday.
With No. 1 goaltender John Gibson now healthy and expected to start Thursday's Game 1 against the Sharks, Berra was deemed surplus to requirements. Berra spent the majority of the 2017-18 campaign with San Diego, posting a 2.56 GAA and .925 save percentage over 30 outings. The Swiss netminder also appeared in five games with the Ducks this season and has 76 games on NHL experience, so he'll continue to be a depth option for Anaheim as they begin the postseason.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Summoned from AHL
Berra was recalled from AHL San Diego on Tuesday, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.
Berra will provide the team with some depth in the crease with John Gibson's (upper body) status unclear heading into Wednesday's contest against the Wild. Even if Gibson is unavailable, Berra could be slated for backup duties behind Ryan Miller.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Returned to minor-league affiliate
The Ducks assigned Berra to AHL San Diego on Tuesday.
Berra's demotion suggests the Ducks are confident John Gibson, who's currently on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, will be available for Friday's matchup with the Blue Jackets. The 31-year-old netminder will return to his role as AHL San Diego's starter for the foreseeable future.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Ascends to highest level
Berra was recalled from AHL San Diego on Wednesday.
A lower-body injury to No. 1 goalie John Gibson necessitated Berra's call-up to the NHL. Berra made a relief showing Feb. 3 against the Canadiens, stopping 20 of 22 shots on the road, but the Ducks have only needed him for one start this campaign. As a result, we can't recommend that you roster the Swiss tender in any fantasy format. However, our opinion of Berra would likely change if Ryan Miller were to sustain a malady of his own.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Returned to minors
Berra was sent back to AHL San Diego on Friday.
Unsurprisingly, the team no longer requires the services of Berra with John Gibson (lower body) available for the club again Friday. He should remain at the ready in case another injury surfaces among the Ducks' goalie group, with him having given solid efforts at both levels this season.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Posts 20 saves in relief
Berra allowed two goals on 22 shots in relief of Ryan Miller during a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday.
The journeyman goaltender was called up Thursday and pressed into service after Miller struggled in the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately for Berra, he didn't really do anything to prove he deserves more playing time. In five appearances with the Ducks this season, he is 1-1-1 with a .926 save percentage and 2.31 GAA, but his career save percentage sits at just .905. Berra will be back in the AHL once John Gibson (lower-body) is ready, which could be very soon.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Called up Thursday
Berra was recalled from AHL San Diego on Thursday, Eric Stephens of The Orange County Register reports.
With John Gibson (lower body) remaining day-to-day, the Ducks wanted to be sure that they had at least one healthy goaltender available (besides Ryan Miller) ahead of the evening's road contest against the Senators. Since Berra's only played in 75 NHL contests between four clubs since debuting with the Flames in 2013-14, he won't be met with much fanfare in the fantasy realm.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Falters in AHL start
Berra, who was sent to AHL San Diego on Friday, stopped 20 of 23 shots in a 4-1 home loss to Bakersfield that night.
The Swiss backstop was reassigned to the AHL with Ryan Miller returning from a lower-body injury in time to face the Kings on Saturday. It's not worth holding onto a third-string goalie like Berra in fantasy, but at least it's clear where he stands within the organization when injuries strike the more established netminders.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Will start Monday
Berra led the team onto the ice and will square off against San Jose on Monday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
With John Gibson fresh off a 50-save performance, and since Ryan Miller (lower body) was just placed on injured reserve, Berra will start his first game for Anaheim in 2017-18. The 30-year-old has appeared three times in relief and only allowed three goals on 31 shots, but he'll need a sharp effort to survive in the Shark Tank, as San Jose currently registers the ninth most shots on goal per game (33) in the NHL.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Turns away 40 in win over Sharks
Berra saved 40 of 42 shots and six shootout attempts during Monday's 3-2 win over San Jose.
This was an impressive showing from the journeyman backup, especially since it was also just his second start of the season. With Ryan Miller nursing a lower-body injury, Berra projects to remain John Gibson's understudy until Miller is healthy enough to take the net. Additionally, following Monday's strong outing, Berra would be worth considering as a streaming option or low-priced flier in daily contests when receiving the starting nod. Anaheim has an upcoming back-to-back set beginning Nov. 24 at home against Winnipeg followed by a road game against Los Angeles on Nov. 25. It's unlikely Gibson makes both starts.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Fills in for injured Ryan Miller
Berra stopped all six shots he faced in relief of Ryan Miller, who sustained a lower-body injury Thursday against the Canucks.
With John Gibson (head) sidelined, Berra has slid into the backup role for the Ducks. It's unknown if Miller's lower-body injury is serious, but if that's the case, Berra could see some more crease time in the near future. He owns a lackluster .903 career save percentage, so even if he does take over the starting gig, it's hard to recommend him as a serviceable fantasy option.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Promoted from minors
Berra was called up from AHL San Diego on Wednesday, per the NHL media site.
Berra's promotion all but rules John Gibson (head) out for Thursday's clash with Vancouver and -- reading between the lines -- likely clears the way for Ryan Miller to get the start, although the team has not provided an official confirmation. In his lone minor-league appearance, Berra gave up three goals on 41 shots, walking away with the victory and a .927 save percentage. The 30-year-old will almost certainly head back to the Gulls once Gibson is back to 100 percent.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Placed on waivers
Berra was placed on waivers Friday, Elliotte Friedman reports.
With John Gibson and Ryan Miller both finally healthy, there wasn't room left for Berra on Anaheim's main roster. If he isn't claimed, Berra will likely head down to the AHL with the Gulls.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Makes 20 stops against old team
Berra came on in relief of the injured John Gibson (undisclosed) and stopped 20 of 21 shots in a 3-1 loss to Colorado on Friday.
Friday night could have been so much worse for the Ducks. Without the defense's shot-blocking efforts, the Avalanche would have had 65 shots make it to the Anaheim net. The fact that 39 got through is not an encouraging sign for either Berra or Gibson's ability to consistently perform, even if they did it successfully against Colorado.

Ducks' Reto Berra: Latches on with Anaheim
Berra signed a one-year contract with the Ducks on Wednesday.
One of the NHL's nomadic goalies, Berra spent a decade playing in his home country of Switzerland before stints with the Flames, Avalanche and Panthers, respectively, from 2013-17. His career numbers include a 19-35-4 record, 2.88 GAA and .904 save percentage, suggesting that he may never evolve into a No. 1 goaltender. Anaheim's free-agent acquisition of veteran backstop Ryan Miller -- who will presumably back up John Gibson -- figures to make it that much more difficult for Berra to see NHL ice in 2017-18.

Panthers' Reto Berra: Allows three goals in loss to Habs
Berra saved 27 of 30 shots during Monday's loss to Montreal.
Berra has lost each of his past three starts with an .857 save percentage and 13 goals against. James Reimer (upper body) could return to action Thursday against the Blues, so Berra might be limited to a single start during Florida's back-to-back set to finish the season. However, considering his recent form, you will likely want to avoid relying on Berra in the majority of fantasy formats.

Panthers' Reto Berra: In goal Monday
Berra will start in the crease Monday against the Canadiens, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Berra has started the last two contests for the Panthers, but the results were disastrous. He allowed 10 goals combined to the Canadiens and Bruins in those two tilts and has now lost four straight decisions in goal. Despite the poor play, he will give it a go again Monday against Montreal, who he allowed six goals to last Thursday.

Panthers' Reto Berra: Loses decision against Bruins
Berra allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Bruins on Saturday.
There's no better option for the Panthers in net right now with both Roberto Luongo and James Reimer sidelined with injuries. In six appearances this season, Berra owns a 0-4-0 record, .870 save percentage and 3.54 GAA. While Florida might not have better options in net, fantasy owners would be wise to look for others vs. starting Berra.
