Jets' Alex Broadhurst: Heads north via trade
The Jets acquired Broadhurst via trade from the Blue Jackets in exchange for future considerations, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
This is Broadhurst's sixth year of pro hockey, and he's played just two games in the NHL while spending the rest in the minors. The 25-year-old center is having a respectable season for AHL Cleveland with 29 points in 48 games. The Jets are stellar down the middle, so Broadhurst will initially report to AHL Manitoba and stay there for the remainder of the campaign.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Waived for reassignment
Broadhurst was placed on waivers by Columbus on Friday in order to assign him to AHL Cleveland.
Broadhurst -- who logged just two NHL outings last season -- will likely spend another year in the minors further developing his game. While the 25-year-old could earn a call-up or two this year, he is unlikely to make a significant impact for 2018-19 and, as such, won't provide much in terms of fantasy value.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Lands extension
Broadhurst penned a one-year, two-way contract extension with Columbus on Monday.
Broadhurst -- who made his NHL debut during the 2017-18 campaign -- logged 66 games for AHL Cleveland in which he racked up 19 goals (a career high) and 22 helpers. What the organization decides to do with unrestricted free agent Mark Letestu will likely determine how big of a role the 24-year-old Broadhurst plays this season.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Records professional debut in 2017-18
Broadhurst made his NHL debut in April skating in two games while averaging 10:02 of ice time, but was unable to record a point.
The first two games of Broadhurst's career were relatively quiet, as he only had one shot on goal and didn't record a hit or a blocked shot. However, his season in the minors was nothing of the sort, as he reeled in 41 points (19 goals, 22 assists) in 66 games, his career best point-per-game pace in the AHL. The big knock on the 25-year-old's game is his small frame -- he weighs just 178 pounds -- but he is strong on the penalty kill, which should help him eventually make the jump to the NHL. However, Broadhurst could find a new home for 2018-19 as he's set to be an unrestricted free agent.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Called up from minors
Broadhurst was promoted from AHL Cleveland on Monday.
Broadhurst has earned his call-up by tallying 41 points in 66 games for the Monsters this season. The move to bring in the center was necessitated by the injury to Nick Foligno (lower body). Whether the 25-year-old Broadhurst makes his NHL debut versus the Oilers on Tuesday remains to be seen.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Placed on waivers
Broadhurst was waived by the Blue Jackets on Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
The 2011 seventh-round pick has yet to make his NHL debut, and he likely won't get the opportunity to do so in 2017-18. If Broadhurst goes unclaimed, he'll be assigned to AHL Cleveland.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Pens one-year extension
Broadhurst agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract extension with Columbus on Friday.
Last season with AHL Cleveland, Broadhurst garnered 25 points and 23 PIM in 52 outings. Originally selected by the Blackhawks in the 2011 NHL Draft, the 24-year-old has spent the past two campaigns in the Blue Jackets' organization. The center is still looking to make his NHL debut, but whether that will happen this upcoming season remains to be seen.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Placed on waivers
Broadhurst was waived by the Blue Jackets on Friday, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Broadhurst has yet to make his NHL debut and will report to AHL Cleveland if he goes unclaimed off waivers. Last season with the Monsters, the 23-year-old registered 10 goals and 26 assists while helping the team to a Calder Cup championship.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Agrees to one-year, two-way contract
Broadhurst signed Monday with Columbus on a one-year, two-way deal.
Broadhurst registered a solid three goals and nine helpers during AHL Lake Erie's championship run last year. In addition, the Illinois native racked up 36 points and 14 PIM in the regular season. The depth down the middle in Columbus is definitely creating a logjam at the center position, which means the 23-year-old will need to prove to the organization why he is deserving of an NHL call up.

Blue Jackets' Alex Broadhurst: Receives qualifying offer
Broadhurst was extended a qualifying offer by the Blue Jackets before Monday's deadline, The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Picked up from Chicago last offseason in the Brandon Saad deal, Broadhurst scored 10 goals and 36 points in 60 games for AHL Lake Erie before finding another gear in the playoffs, scoring three goals and 12 points in 17 games as the team won their first Calder Cup. He's still only 23, but the seventh round pick in 2011 may have already reached his ceiling as a pro, so don't expect him to crack the NHL roster.
