Bobby Farnham: Headed overseas
Farnham secured a one-year contract with the Belfast Giants (EIHL) on Saturday.
Farnham hasn't played in an NHL contest since the 2016-17 campaign, when he logged three games for the Habs. After two years in the minors with AHL Springfield, the Boston University product will get his first taste of European hockey. This move all but closes the door on the winger's time in the NHL and figures to see him eventually retire with eight goals and two helpers in 67 games for the Penguins, Devils and Canadiens.

Bobby Farnham: Released from tryout
The Rangers released Farnham from his professional tryout agreement Thursday.
Farnham was never considered a serious contender to land a spot on New York's Opening Night roster, so this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 28-year-old forward spent most of the 2016-17 campaign in the minors, notching 28 points in 71 games with Montreal's AHL affiliate. He'll likely need to seek a similar role with a new club in order to keep playing in North America this season.

Rangers' Bobby Farnham: Will try out with big club
Farnham will attend Rangers' camp on a professional tryout agreement, Larry Brooks of the New York Post reports.
Farnham logged 71 outings for AHL St. John's last season, tallying 11 goals, 17 helpers and 137 PIM. For his career, the winger has appeared in 67 NHL contests, but has just 10 points to show for it, so it's unsurprising that he's been unable to secure a permanent contract. If he does stick in the Big Apple, it will likely be in a 12th or 13th forward role that would have him watching from the press box on a semi-regular basis.

Canadiens' Bobby Farnham: Shipped off to AHL St. John's
Farnham was designated for the minors Friday.
Farnham and prospect Nikita Scherbak were both handed tickets to the AHL on the eve of a home game against the Rangers. There's speculation that established forward Alex Galchenyuk is nearing his return from a knee injury, which likely explains the transactions for the aforementioned skaters. Farnham's been associated with three different NHL clubs since debuting with the Penguins in 2014-15, and consequently, it's been quite an adjustment for the depth winger.

Canadiens' Bobby Farnham: Makes season debut Wednesday
Farnham was in the active lineup Wednesday, registering two shots on goal and four hits in Montreal's 4-3 overtime win in Dallas.
Farnham made his season debut after being called up over the weekend from AHL St. John's. He skated strictly on the fourth line, replacing Chris Terry. With two more injuries at the forward position -- both Brendan Gallagher (hand) and Paul Byron (upper body) left Wednesday's game -- both Farnham and Terry should stick around for a bit.

Canadiens' Bobby Farnham: Called up to big club
Farnham has been recalled from AHL St. John's, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
As the Canadiens continue to deal with multiple injuries, they have elected to bring up Farnham to replace Sven Andrighetto in the offensive corps after the latter was reassigned to the minors Saturday. Farnham isn't much of a scorer as his nine points in 31 games with the IceCaps might suggest, but he does bring an excellent enforcing presence with him, as he's managed to rack up a whopping 58 penalty minutes this season.

Canadiens' Bobby Farnham: Sent to AHL St. John's
Farnham was assigned to the Canadiens' AHL affiliate after training camp Sunday, TSN reports.
This is a bit of a surprise for a player that played 53 games last year for Pittsburgh and New Jersey. He wasn't a major contributor even when playing in the NHL, so now that he is starting the season in the minors his fantasy value is even lower.

Canadiens' Bobby Farnham: Signs with Canadiens
Farnham agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way deal with Montreal on Friday.
Farnham is the type of gritty player that every team loves to have but hates to play against. In 50 games with the Devils last season, the winger registered 92 PIM and 83 hits, but offers limited value outside of those categories.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Set to return from suspension Saturday
Farnham (suspension) will return to the Devils' lineup Saturday against the Jets, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Farnham will slot back into the lineup as a bottom-six forward Saturday against Winnipeg. The 27-year-old winger has notched eight points (seven goals, one assist) in 24 games with the Devils this season.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Receives four-game suspension
Farnham was handed a four-game suspension for interference on St. Louis' Dmitrij Jaskin in Tuesday's game against the Blues.
The suspension doesn't come as a huge surprise, as Farnham violently leveled Jaskin out of frustration behind the play, using his arms to deliver the blow up high. The penalty likely could have been even worse, but Farnham doesn't have a history of dirty play, and Jaskin didn't sustain an injury. Farnham will be eligible to return to action on Jan. 23 against Winnipeg.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Contributes goal, PIM in loss
Farnham scored his seventh goal of the year and racked up 15 PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Blues.
Incredibly, Farnham has already tied his career high for goals in a pro season. Indeed, the 26-year-old continues to score at a shockingly high rate, having required only 23 shots on net in his 24 games as a Devil to score those seven goals. He's piled up penalty minutes in the minors -- including exceeding 200 twice -- so that's a more likely avenue of fantasy production for Farnham than the goal column.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Activated from IR
Farnham (upper body) has been activated from injured reserve, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.
Patrik Elias (knee) is on IR, and Tuomo Ruutu is out Tuesday with an illness, so Farnham's activation from injured reserve comes at a good time for the Devils. Unfortunately, it's not likely that Farnham will be able to slot in with the group of top-six forwards, as Michael Cammalleri and Jiri Tlusty have been occupying the left wing in those spots.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Could return Tuesday
Farnham (upper body) could play Tuesday night against the Hurricanes, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
As noted in the report, Farnham remains on injured reserve and would need to be activated before he would be able to play in a game. Plus, the team needs him with Tuomo Ruutu (illness) declared out Tuesday. "I was told there was a chance I could play and to just be ready if the opportunity arises," Farnham said.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Could return Tuesday
Coach John Hynes indicated Monday "there's a possibility" that Farnham will return to the lineup Tuesday, The Record reports.
Farnham has been a regular fixture at practice while on IR and indicated that he is feeling better and is good to go when called upon. "I just come to practice every day and it's one of those things that it might be a game-day decision if you get activated or not," Farnham said. "We'll see what happens. I'll be ready to go." Whether or note he's activated will likely come down to whether or not the Devils decide to place Patrik Elias (knee) on injured reserve. Expect an update at some point if Farnham does indeed get activated Tuesday.

Devils' Bobby Farnham: Placed on IR
Farnham is dealing with an upper-body injury that has prompted the team to place him on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 8, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
It's not clear how Farnham sustained the upper-body ailment, but at any rate, Farnham's placement to IR corresponds to Jiri Tlusty (shoulder) being activated from the same list. This news mostly affects the Devils' depth at the forward spot since Farnham only has four points in 30 career games.
