The Flames released Svedberg from his professional tryout offer Wednesday, Aaron Vickers of NHL.com reports.

Flames' Viktor Svedberg: Lands PTO
Svedberg will link up with the Flames on a professional tryout for training camp, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
The departure of Dougie Hamilton via trade has opened up an opportunity on the blue line in Calgary -- even though the club got Noah Hanifin in return -- which makes this an ideal landing spot for a player trying to earn a permanent contract. Even if he does earn a spot in training camp, the 27-year-old Svedberg could find himself watching from the press box more often than not.

Blackhawks' Viktor Svedberg: Will play in Game 1
Svedberg (lower body) will be ready to play in Wednesday's Game 1 matchup against the Blues, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Svedberg suffered the injury in Saturday's regular-season finale, but the Swedish blueliner appears no worse for the wear. Barring a setback of some kind over the next couple days, he should be fine for the start of the Blackhawks' playoff run. The 24-year-old blueliner split the season between the minors and the NHL, but collected just four points with the Blackhawks over 27 games. Unless something changes, his value in playoff pools will likely remain minimal.
