Kyle Baun: Moving overseas
Baun secured a one-year deal with the Belfast Giants (EIHL) on Wednesday.
Baun hasn't logged an NHL game since he was with the Blackhawks organization in 2015-16. Since then, the 26-year-old has played for three different AHL clubs -- most recently the Toronto Marlies. In his 71 minor-league appearances last year, the Toronto native managed just five goals and 17 helpers. The Colgate University product will be hard-pressed to earn his way back to the NHL.

Maple Leafs' Kyle Baun: Dealt to Maple Leafs
The Canadiens traded Baun and Tomas Plekanec to the Maple Leafs on Sunday, with Rinat Valiev and Kerby Rychel heading the other way, TSN reports.
Baun is a versatile power forward who compiled four goals, 12 assists and 24 PIM over 54 games with AHL Laval leading up to this trade headlined by Plekanec. The 25-year-old was born in Toronto, so this will be a homecoming for the undrafted skater, who we figure will serve as organizational depth for the playoff-bound Leafs.

Blackhawks' Kyle Baun: Waived by Chicago
The Blackhawks waived Baun on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
The 25-year-old winger was never expected to win a spot on the Blackhawks' Opening Night roster, so this move doesn't come as much of a surprise. If Baun goes unclaimed, he'll report to AHL Rockford, where he'll likely spend the entirety of the 2017-18 campaign.

Blackhawks' Kyle Baun: Called up during playoffs
Baun was recalled from AHL Rockford on Tuesday.
Baun receives his first recall of the season, and it comes at a time when the Blackhawks stand on the brink of elimination. The 24-year-old forward had a decently productive campaign in the AHL, posting new career highs in goals (14) and assists (20). That said, Chicago is already carrying 15 healthy forwards on the roster, so Baun will likely only serve a purpose in practice.

Blackhawks' Kyle Baun: Returns to AHL
Baun was assigned to AHL Rockford on Saturday.
Despite signing a two-year contract extension in the offseason, it appears that Baun will spend another season primarily at the AHL level. Last season he played 43 games with Rockford, compared to just two with Chicago.

Blackhawks' Kyle Baun: Inks two-year extension with Chicago
Baun signed a two-year contract extension with the Blackhawks on Thursday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
The Blackhawks are high on Baun, and are hopeful the Colgate University product will eventually develop into a solid bottom-six forward for the big club. The 22-year-old winger will first need to prove himself in the minors with AHL Rockford, where he's notched just six points (three goals, three assists) in 22 games this season.

Blackhawks' Kyle Baun: Assigned to AHL Rockford on Friday
Baun was assigned to AHL Rockford by the Blackhawks on Friday.
The Blackhawks have struggled offensively of late, as they have only managed to score one goal in their last two games combined, both of which were losses. Thus, Friday's move likely represents an effort to shake things up offensively by Chicago. Baun managed to record a single shot on goal and went minus-2 in the two games he played in during his stay with the big club.

Hawks' Baun Shines In Preseason Action
Baun tallied two goals and an assist in Friday's exhibition win over the Canadiens.Baun has now registered four points (three goals, one assist) in two exhibition contests this preseason. The 23-year-old Colgate product is generally regarded as a strong physical presence on the ice, rather than a goal scorer, which makes his knack for tickling the twine this preseason that much more impressive. The Hawks are extremely deep at forward, so even though his preseason performance has been nothing short of impressive, he may have a hard time securing an Opening Night roster spot with the big club. If he doesn't start the season in the NHL, he will definitely be one of the first players the Hawks turn to in case of injury or poor performance.... See More ... See Less
