  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Lands deal in Russia

Kamenev has signed a two-year contract with SKA Saint Petersburg of the KHL, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports. Kamenev was never able to carve out a significant role with the Avalanche after being traded to the club in November of 2017 as part of the deal that sent Matt Duchene to Nashville, appearing in just 64 games while notching just 13 points over three seasons. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 24-year-old forward spend the rest of his playing career in his native Russia.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Left off playoff roster

Kamenev was limited during training camp due to an appendectomy in May, which resulted in him being cut from the playoff roster, Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic reports. Kamenev ended the season on a 28-game goal drought dating back to Nov. 19 versus Calgary. The Russian center's exclusion from the playoff roster could be a sign of things to come, as he will need a new contract this offseason, though as an RFA he won't have too many options if the team doesn't let him walk.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Struggling to score

Kamenev had one goal and eight points with a minus-2 rating and 32 shots on net in 38 games before play was halted in March. The 23-year-old went 28 games before the postponement without scoring a goal. He also recorded a minus-5 rating and under a shot on net per game during that stretch. Kamenev was getting more pucks on goal just prior to the postponement, but it's difficult to say whether that will translate to goals once play resumes.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: On goalless streak

Kamenev has one assist and a plus-1 rating in the last seven games. The 23-year-old has been receiving regular playing time again since Feb. 11, but it hasn't resulted in a lot of production. Kamenev hasn't scored a goal in his last 20 games and is averaging just under a shot on net per contest during that stretch. Kamenev is much more useful to owners in keeper formats because he's a young player still developing, but it's going to be hard counting on any consistent production from him down the stretch this season. He has one goal and seven points in 30 games during 2019-20.

Kamenev posted two shots and a hit in his return to the lineup in a 3-0 victory over the Senators on Tuesday. In the prior five games, Kamenev sat as a healthy scratch. While he didn't score, it was his second game since Jan. 1 with multiple shots on goal. Kamenev has a goal and six points with a plus-2 rating and 24 shots in 24 games this season.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Snags assist in win

Kamenev produced an assist and two hits in Thursday's 4-0 win over the Sharks. Kamenev set up Ryan Graves' tally in the second period. Kamenev has now surpassed last year's offense with six points in 21 contests this season. The Russian has added 19 shots on goal, 14 hits and a plus-2 rating. Playing time is anything but guaranteed for the 23-year-old, but fantasy owners aren't likely to notice anyway, given his lackluster production.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Cracking lineup again

Kamenev has an assist and a plus-1 rating with one shot on goal in his last two games since returning to the lineup. The 23-year-old went almost a month between games, as he was a healthy scratch for 11 straight contests. Despite playing fairly well lately, Kamenev still doesn't have a regular spot in the lineup. Kamenev posted an assist Jan. 4 versus the Devils and then sat out the next two games before playing again Friday against the Penguins. He has one goal and five points with a plus-2 rating in 19 games this season.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: On seven-game scoreless streak

Kamenev has zero points with nine shots on net in his last seven games. While that isn't an impressive shot total, the 23-year-old has actually increased his shot output since the start to the season. In his first 10 games, he scored a goal but had just eight shots on net. He also has a minus-2 rating and two PIM in his last seven contests. Overall, Kamenev has one goal and four points with a plus-1 rating and 17 shots in 17 games this season.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Will play Saturday

Kamenev (illness) will rejoin the lineup for Saturday's game against the Bruins, Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic reports. Kamenev sat out Thursday due to an illness but is needed for Saturday's contest with Matt Calvert taking personal leave for a family commitment. Despite his return to action, Kamenev remains mostly a DFS lineup filler in terms of fantasy value.

Kamenev (illness) isn't in the projected lineup for Thursday's matchup with Montreal, NHL.com's Sean Farrell reports. Kamenev will miss a second straight game due to an illness. The 23-year-old pivot's next opportunity to rejoin the lineup will arrive Saturday against the Bruins.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Won't play Wednesday

Kamenev (illness) won't play Wednesday against Toronto, Adrian Dater of ColoradoHockeyNow.com reports. With Kamenev under the weather, Matt Nieto will draw into the lineup against the Maple Leafs. The 23-year-old forward will be reevaluated ahead of Thursday's matchup with Montreal.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Has four points

Kamenev has one goal and four points with a plus-2 rating and 14 shots on net in 13 games this season. The 23-year-old doesn't consistently contribute in any statistical category, but he does already have solid scoring numbers with a 7.1 shooting percentage. Kamenev had two goals and five points with a 9.1 shooting percentage in 23 games last season, so he only needs one more goal in the next 10 games to match his scoring totals from 2018-19. He's also winning about 50 percent of his faceoffs.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Deposits eventual game-winner

Kamenev scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Flames. The Russian forward struck in the second period for the last Avalanche goal in the game. Kamenev's tally became the game-winner after the Flames attempted a comeback. Kamenev has four points and eight shots on goal through 10 games. He's in the lineup as the Avalanche have five injured forwards, but he's making a good case to stay in once the team gets healthy despite averaging only 9:20 per game.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Helpers in three straight games

Kamenev registered a power-play assist and two hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jackets. Kamenev set up Samuel Girard's goal in the first period. The Russian forward now has assists in three consecutive games for his only three points of the year. Kamenev has a very limited role with the Avalanche, so this recent point streak isn't likely to last much longer.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Still looking for first point

Kamenev has zero points and three shots on goal in three games this season. The 23-year-old has finally received some playing time, as he's dressed for the last three games. Unfortunately, Kamenev has made little impact on the stat sheet, though, while averaging under 10 minutes per contest. With injuries to three Avalanche forwards, Kamenev should continue to dress, but he'll have to make an impact soon in order to avoid being a healthy scratch again when they return.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Waiting to make 2019-20 debut

Kamenev is still waiting to make his 2019-20 NHL debut. The 23-year-old has been a healthy scratch for Colorado's first nine games this season. One has to figure he'll get a look sooner or later, but clearly, Colorado considers the dropoff from its top 12 forwards to Kamenev to be substantial. Last season, Kamenev posted two goals and five points in 23 games.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Sitting in press box

Kamenev hasn't appeared in a regular-season NHL game yet in 2019-20. The 23-year-old has been a healthy scratch in each of Colorado's first four games. He's a very talented young player, so probably worth stashing in dynasty formats, but injuries have stunted his development and now it might take an injury to an Avalanche winger to get him back on the ice.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Cleared for camp

Kamenev (shoulder) was a full participant at Friday's practice. Kamenev missed 59 games last campaign due to a shoulder injury, but he's now back to 100 percent and ready to take the next step in his development after notching five points in 23 contests as a rookie. The 23-year-old center will be competing for a spot in the Avalanche's bottom six during training camp.

  • Avalanche's Vladislav Kamenev: Re-signs with Colorado

Kamenev (shoulder) signed a one-year contract with the Avalanche on Tuesday. Kamenev appeared in 23 games with the big club before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last campaign, notching two goals and five points while averaging 9:02 of ice time over that span. Colorado added some depth up front this offseason, so Kamenev may be hard pressed to secure a permanent spot in the team's bottom six out of training camp. It's possible that the 22-year-old Russian will have marginal fantasy value in deeper leagues in 2019-20, but there's no reason for owners to have him on their radars during drafts this season.
