Blackhawks' Anton Lindholm: Shipped to Chicago
The Avalanche traded Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov to the Blackhawks for Brandon Saad and Dennis Gilbert on Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Lindholm hasn't piled up points at any stage of his hockey career, so this change of scenery likely won't change things for the 25-year-old blueliner. He'll bring 66 games of NHL experience to the Blackhawks, however, and he can work on the third pairing if injuries pop up on the blue line. Lindholm likely will begin the upcoming season with AHL Rockford.

Avalanche's Anton Lindholm: Ascends to top level
The Avalanche recalled Lindholm from AHL Colorado on Sunday.
With Cale Makar (upper body) and Erik Johnson (lower body) on injured reserve, Lindholm will head up and serve as the seventh defenseman. Lindholm has posted just two points over 23 games in the AHL this season, and his first chance to crack the lineup is Monday against the Blues.

Lindholm, 24, a fifth-round draft pick, back in 2014, has only found the scoresheet four times in 62 games, all assists. Facing an uncertain future, one thing is certain and it's that Lindholm, while a serviceable blueliner at the NHL level, offers little-to-no fantasy upside regardless of what jersey he wears. He last appeared in a game Dec. 22, 2018.

Lindholm will hit the showers early with the Wild on tap Wednesday, heading back to the AHL after he drew into just two games in his time with the Avalanche. Not much of an offensive threat, the 24-year-old's relegation shouldn't have much of an impact from a fantasy standpoint. Still, he should remain one of the top options for recall if the Avalanche require reinforcements along the blue line.

Lindholm compiled four points, 99 hits and a plus-4 rating through 44 games in 2017-18.
Lindholm is far from being an offensive threat, having only fired 22 shots on goal and making no power-play presence. Still, the 23-year-old has adjusted well to the North American game -- he only played in Sweden until the 2016-17 campaign -- and stayed out of the AHL all season. However, Lindholm was hindered by two injuries (upper body and jaw), and he was also a healthy scratch for 20 of the final 21 games -- including playoffs.
