Trevor Murphy: Headed for KHL
Murphy inked a two-year contract with Kunlun Red Star (KHL) on Friday.
Murphy was shipped from Arizona to Anaheim during the season, but was unable to break into the NHL with either team. Instead the blueliner appeared in 64 AHL games with Tucson and San Diego in which he recorded eight goals, 23 assists and 74 PIM. With no clear path to the NHL, the 23-year-old will look to jump-start his career in the KHL.

Ducks' Trevor Murphy: Shipped to Anaheim
Murphy was traded from the Coyotes to the Ducks in exchange for Giovanni Fiore on Friday.
Murphy failed to crack the Opening Night roster for the Coyotes, but the 23-year-old blueliner has turned in 13 points -- five goals and eight assists -- through 27 games with AHL Tuscon. His minus-6 rating suggests he may have some things to work on defensively, however. He will see a change of scenery heading to Anaheim and could have a chance to join the NHL squad down the road.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Fails to crack Coyotes roster; bound for minors
Murphy was placed on waivers Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Murphy got his first taste of NHL action a season ago, having suited up for eight games with Arizona and registering three points along the way. Furthermore, in those eight contests, Murphy posted a plus-5 rating. Having been unsuccessful in his bid for an Opening Night roster spot, the 23-year-old defenseman will begin the year in AHL Tucson.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Garners extension
Murphy signed a new one-year, two-way contract with the Coyotes on Friday, CapFriendly reports.
A depth defenseman for the perpetually rebuilding 'Yotes, Murphy's deal is valued at $715,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 in the minors. He'll be a restricted free agent once again ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Gets qualifying offer
Murphy was tendered a qualifying offer from the Coyotes on Monday, NHL.com reports. As a result, Arizona gets to retain exclusive negotiating rights with the pending restricted free agent.
Murphy defied the odds by signing a contract (originally with the Predators) as an undrafted free agent in September of 2015. He was packaged in a four-player trade to Arizona last February, proceeding to add three points and a plus-5 rating over eight games. Given that the defenseman is just getting started on his NHL career, it would be wise to take a wait-and-see approach with him in fantasy games.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Dropped to AHL Tucson
Murphy was sent down to the AHL level Sunday, Craig Morgan of NHL.com reports.
Murphy was solid in his brief NHL stint, scoring a goal and three points in nine games with a plus-5 rating. AHL Tucson is gearing up for a playoff run, so Arizona sent down several of its young skaters. Murphy should be back in the NHL next season.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Promoted to top level
Murphy was recalled from AHL Tuscon on Tuesday.
Murphy's recall follows news that Jason Demers will miss the rest of the season with an upper-body injury. The 22-year-old replacement wasn't drafted, but the defenseman did shine with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires (116 points in 152 games) before spending three seasons between AHL Milwaukee (when he was with the Predators) and most recently, Tuscon.

Coyotes' Trevor Murphy: Packaged to Arizona
Murphy was dealt along with Pierre-Cedric Labrie on Monday from Nashville to Arizona in a trade that saw Tyler Gaudet and John Ramage go the other way.
Murphy has been with the Nashville organization since he signed his entry-level contract in September 2015, but has never been recalled from the AHL. He's found success in the minors, however, scoring 26 points (eight goals ,18 assists) in 48 games in 2017-18.
