Robert Scuderi: Takes coaching gig
Scuderi will join the Junior Islanders as the Player Development Coach.
Considering Scuderi didn't play anywhere last season, it's not surprising to see him transitioning into an off-ice role. The two-time Stanley Cup Champion logged 783 regular-season contests in which he tallied eight goals, 102 assists and 198 PIM -- adding another 14 points in 122 playoff outings.

Kings' Robert Scuderi: Sent to minors Tuesday
Scuderi was returned to AHL Ontario on Tuesday, effectively helping the Kings maximize the benefits of designating another player to long-term injured reserve, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
Rosen expects that either starting goalie Jonathan Quick (groin) or veteran forward Marian Gaborik (foot) is headed for LTIR. This will provide the club with extra cap relief against the upper limit in conjunction with Scuderi's move to the minors. The move makes a lot of sense given that the veteran blueliner hasn't even drawn into a game this season.

Kings' Robert Scuderi: Recalled Monday
Scuderi was recalled from AHL Ontario on Monday, Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Scuderi has yet to play in a game with the Kings or the Reign this season. His recall is due to the injury to fellow blueliner Brayden McNabb (upper body), who was placed on IR on Sunday. It's unclear whether the Kings plan to dress the 37-year-old veteran, but even if they do, he's known as a shut-down depth defender that's never put up more than 16 points in a full NHL season.

Kings' Robert Scuderi: On waiver wire
Scuderi was waived Monday for the purpose of reassignment, Seth Rorabaugh of DK on Pittsburgh Sports reports.
Scuderi bounced around the league last season as he was traded twice before ending the season with the Kings. In total, the veteran logged 63 contests, while failing to record a goal and garnering just 10 helpers. The 37-year-old seems a long-shot to get picked up off the waiver wire, and if unclaimed will head to AHL Ontario.
