  • Justin Kloos: Lands KHL deal

Kloos has signed a contract with Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports.

Kloos spent the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign in the minors, notching 11 goals and 30 points in 53 games with AHL San Diego. The 26-year-old winger has only appeared in two NHL contests since turning pro in 2016-17, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend the rest of his playing career overseas.

  • Ducks' Justin Kloos: Agrees to one-year deal

Kloos has signed a one-year, two-way contract with Anaheim, Elliott Teaford of The Orange County Register reports.

Kloos appeared in one game for the Ducks last season, instead spending the bulk of the year in the minors. The University of Minnesota product figures to continue playing for AHL San Diego this year, but could see a few additional contests in 2019-20.

  • Ducks' Justin Kloos: Receives qualifying offer

The Ducks extended Kloos a qualifying offer Tuesday.

Kloos performed well in the minors last season, racking up 18 goals and 45 points in 59 games. However, the 25-year-old has only appeared in two NHL games since turning pro in 2016-17, and there's no reason to believe he's going to be able to carve out a regular role with the big club in 2019-20.

  • Ducks' Justin Kloos: Reassigned to San Diego

Kloos was sent down to AHL San Diego on Monday.

Kloos was acquired by the Ducks on Jan. 16. The 25-year-old dressed for one game, logging only 7:04 of ice time against the Devils on Jan. 19, but failed to record a point. While Kloos has yet to suit up for San Diego, the winger, as a member of the Iowa Wild, posted 30 points in 34 minor-league games before being traded.

  • Ducks' Justin Kloos: Making debut for Ducks

Following his trade from Minnesota in the Pontus Aberg deal Wednesday, Kloos will make his Ducks debut Saturday afternoon against the Devils, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports.

This will be a fourth-line assignment to start, but Kloos is an intriguing prospect who made a name for himself with the University of Minnesota from 2013-17, and there should be plenty of opportunities to showcase his skills on a team that has been ravaged by injuries up front. Kloos appeared in one NHL game for the Wild last season, and he dropped 12 goals and 18 assists over 34 contests for AHL Iowa to his credit this season.

  • Ducks' Justin Kloos: Traded to Anaheim

The Wild traded Kloos to the Ducks in exchange for Pontus Aberg on Wednesday.

Kloos has played well in the minors this season, racking up 12 goals and 30 points in 34 contests, but he's only appeared in one NHL game since turning pro in 2016-17, so it remains to be seen if he'll ever be a regular contributor at the top level. He'll likely report to AHL San Diego initially, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him suit up for the Ducks at some point this campaign.

The season ended for AHL Iowa, so Kloos jumps up a rank to provide extra depth. The 24-year-old had an excellent minor-league season, racking up 19 goals and 50 points in 76 games, but he won't slot into the Game 3 lineup for the Wild.

  • Wild's Justin Kloos: Recalled to NHL

Kloos was recalled from the minors Monday.

After scoring 43 points in 38 games for the University of Minnesota last year, Kloos was off to a good start in the minors recording three points in six games. Even though his 5-foot-9 frame is below average, his speed and silky hands help him offset his size. This will be the 23-year-old's first stint in the NHL, and his first opportunity to make his professional debut will be Tuesday against Vancouver.
