Jonathan Davidsson: Set to hit free agency
Davidsson won't receive a qualifying offer from Ottawa, which means he'll become an unrestricted free agent Monday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Davidsson has only appeared in six games with the Senators since being drafted in the sixth round in 2017, picking up one helper over that span, and he's clearly not a part of the team's long-term plans. The 24-year-old winger may opt to remain in his native Sweden for the 2021-22 campaign and beyond.

Senators' Jonathan Davidsson: Loaned to Swedish club
The Senators have loaned Davidsson to Vasterviks IK of Sweden's Hockey Allsvenskan league.
Davidsson will return to North America ahead of next season's training camp, so this is just a temporary loan to keep the youngster playing while the start of the 2020-21 NHL campaign remains up in the air. The 2017 sixth-round pick notched five points in 18 AHL appearances and one helper in six games with the big club in 2019-20.

Senators' Jonathan Davidsson: Reassigned to minors
Davidsson (lower body) was sent down to AHL Belleville on Thursday.
Per league rules, Davidsson would need to have been medically cleared before being reassigned, so it appears his lower-body issue was a minor one. The Swede has tallied three points in eight games with Belleville and will probably spend the bulk of the year in the AHL.

Davidsson (lower body) won't play in Wednesday's game against the Devils.

Senators' Jonathan Davidsson: Will make NHL debut Thursday
Davidsson was promoted from AHL Belleville on Thursday and will suit up against Los Angeles.
After making the jump from his native Sweden to North America this summer, Davidsson notched one goal and two assists in eight minor-league games. The winger figures to slot into a fourth-line role for Thursday's clash and should see around 8-10 minutes of ice time. While the 21-year-old will likely head back to the minors soon, he could be in contention for a regular spot on the 23-man roster heading into the 2020-21 campaign.

Senators' Jonathan Davidsson: Rights traded to Ottawa
Davidsson was traded from the Blue Jackets to the Senators along with Vitali Abramov, a first-round pick and another conditional first-rounder in exchange for Matt Duchene and Julius Bergman, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Davidsson will remain in Sweden for the time being, but the Senators now hold his NHL contract rights. The 21-year-old winger has collected 10 goals and 10 assists over 35 games with Djurgardens IF in Sweden's top hockey league, but the 2017 sixth-round pick is still a long ways away from contributing in the NHL.

Blue Jackets' Jonathan Davidsson: Bound for Europe
Davidsson was sent back to Djurgardens IF in his native Sweden for the 2018-19 campaign.
Davidsson stuck around for the entirety of training camp and the preseason, which bodes well for his long-term outlook with the club. Rather than stick the winger in the minors, the team has decided to return him to Sweden for the upcoming campaign.
