Jesper Lindgren: Becomes free agent
Lindgren was not qualified by the Penguins on Monday and will become a free agent.
Lindgren was acquired from Toronto last offseason as part of the Kasperi Kapanen trade but never appeared in an NHL or AHL game with the Penguins organization. He scored 18 points in 25 games in Sweden last season and tallied nine points with AHL Toronto during the 2019-20 campaign. Lindgren was a fourth-round pick in 2015 and has yet to make his NHL debut.

Penguins' Jesper Lindgren: Traded Tuesday
Lindgren was included in a six-player trade Tuesday, which saw him head to Pittsburgh from Toronto along with Kasperi Kapanen and Pontus Aberg in a swap for Evan Rodrigues, Filip Hallander, David Warsofsky and a 2020 first-round pick.
Lindgren is already expected to start the 2020-21 campaign with Swedish club MODO but figures to be with the Pens when training camp kicks off in November. With AHL Toronto this year, the 23-year-old defenseman notched one goal and eight helpers in 31 appearances. There likely won't be a spot for Lindgren on the 23-man roster next year, though he could earn a call-up or two if injuries pop up.

Maple Leafs' Jesper Lindgren: Loaned to SHL team
Toronto has loaned Lindgren to Modo of the SHL.
Lindgren spent the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign with AHL Toronto, picking up nine points while posting a plus-5 rating in 31 contests. The 23-year-old blueliner will almost certainly be recalled ahead of the AHL's next season, but at this point it remains unclear when the 2020-21 AHL campaign will begin.
