Cammalleri finished the 2017-18 season with two points in his last four games.
After being traded to Edmonton from the Kings for Jussi Jokinen on Nov. 14, Cammalleri went on to score 22 points (four goals, 18 assists) in 51 games in Oil Country. The aging veteran did find the back of the net in two of the club's final four games -- otherwise, he was largely inconsistent. The Toronto native will start off the 2018-19 season as an unrestricted free agent.

Oilers' Michael Cammalleri: Lights lamp in win
Cammalleri found the back of the net in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Golden Knights.
Cammalleri scored a power-play goal midway through the third period, helping mount Edmonton's late comeback. The 35-year-old winger has now scored two goals in the last three games since returning from an (undisclosed) injury Mar. 31. Cammalleri now has 29 points in 65 games in 2017-18. Even though the aging veteran is ending the season on a high note, he isn't consistent enough to be relied upon outside the deepest of leagues.

Cammalleri collected three assists to complement a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 road win over the Kings.
The 35-year-old was busy in the attacking zone against the team that traded him for Jussi Jokinen (now with Columbus) last November. With the trade deadline looming, Cammalleri is likely to be dealt yet again. He's fashioned 638 points (292 goals, 346 assists) over his career, and is seven outings away from reaching the 900-games milestone, having also suited up for the Flames, Habs and Devils over nearly 15 years of NHL service time.

Cammalleri is a prime candidate to be traded, the Edmonton Sun reports.
Cammalleri is an unrestricted free agent after this season and the Oilers appear to be sellers given their disappointing 2017-18 campaign. The aging veteran is no stranger to being traded -- especially teams in Alberta, he's been shipped off to Calgary twice and once to Edmonton. Cammalleri has been playing better as of late (five points in the last seven games) and a new change of scenery could be beneficial. It is a situation definitely worth monitoring.

Cammalleri extended his point streak to four games Saturday, notching two assists in a loss to San Jose.
Cammalleri is delivering right now and has managed 20 points through 46 games. The veteran remains a streaky player, but his second-line gig and role on the power play make him worth owning in deeper leagues. Cammalleri is now 35 years of age and isn't the sniper he once was, but he still has plenty to offer in fantasy.

The last two weeks have produced mixed opportunities for Cammalleri -- he has spent time on the Oilers' top line with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl as well as being deemed a healthy scratch. While the 35-year-old veteran has now registered an assist in back-to-back games, giving him 10 points in 29 games in 2017-18, age is appearing to take its toll. Cammalleri's potential grouping with McDavid remains worth monitoring but he is best left on the wire for now.

Oilers' Michael Cammalleri: Struggles along with rest of team
Cammalleri went minus-2 with three empty shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 road loss to the Stars.
The Oilers were overwhelmed by a Stars line that consisted of Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov, and Cammalleri wasn't able to help his own cause in the plus-minus department. In his prime, the Ontario native was a high-volume shooter averaging well over a half-point per game, and he even posted 82 points in 81 games with Calgary in 2008-09, but father time seems to have caught up with the diminutive winger. He's provided only 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 36 games between the Kings and Oilers this season.

Cammalleri scored on his only shot in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Blues.
Cammalleri's unassisted third-period tally got the lid off the net for the home side. The goal was only his second in 15 games since coming over from the Kings in a trade, and Cammalleri's 10:16 of ice time in this one was the lowest mark on the team, so expectations for the 35-year-old veteran should remain tempered.

Oilers' Michael Cammalleri: Could ascend to top line with Connor McDavid
Cammalleri is slated to play (on the top line) with Connor McDavid and Milan Lucic on Sunday, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
That's a plum assignment for Cammalleri, as McDavid is arguably the top skater in the league and Lucic prides himself on pushing opponents off the puck in an effort to create scoring opportunities. Cammalleri has just one point (an assist) through four games since being traded from Los Angeles on Nov. 16, but he should be a sneaky value play if he does line up with McDavid and Lucic in the next contest.

Oilers' Michael Cammalleri: Set for debut with Edmonton
Cammalleri will make his Oilers debut against the Blues on Thursday night, NHL.com reports.
The Kings shipped Cammalleri off to The Big E in exchange for Jussi Jokinen on Tuesday. He'd posted three goals and four assists over 15 games and 12:38 of average ice time with LA, including a spot on the man advantage. We'll see if the veteran can work his way into the second PP unit with his new squad.

Cammalleri was sent to Edmonton in exchange for Jussi Jokinen on Tuesday, Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet reports.
Cammalleri compiled 31 points in 61 games for the Devils last season, and it was his fifth consecutive campaign with over 30 points. The 35-year-old played in under 70 games for each of those seasons, which means two things: he's efficient when he's on the ice, but his age is catching up with him. The journeyman seems to be on the same path this season, with seven points through 15 games while logging significant power-play minutes. He should be considered a decent fantasy asset in deeper leagues, and it doesn't hurt that he could play on the power play with some kid named Connor McDavid.

Kings' Michael Cammalleri: Two-point effort in team's historic win
Cammalleri tacked on a power-play goal and an even-strength assist in Thursday night's 5-3 home win over the Maple Leafs.
This was a valiant effort from the veteran winger, and it's especially noteworthy because Cammalleri snapped a five-game pointless drought and helped the Kings match their best start in franchise history. The Ontario native now has seven points (three goals, four assists) in 11 games, but he's dialed in all of that offensive production over three such contests.

Kings' Michael Cammalleri: Tallies four points
Cammalleri picked up two goals and two assists in a 5-1 win over the Canadiens on Wednesday. He also posted a plus-3 rating and had three shots on goal.
This was a huge game for the veteran, and it comes as a surprise. Cammalleri had zero points before this contest, and actually was scratched in Los Angeles' last two games. Clearly there is still a little spark left in the 35-year-old, but it's hard to view this as anything but a fluke given the circumstances.

Cammalleri -- who has reunited with the Kings, a franchise that made him a 2001 second-round, 49th overall draft pick -- went plus-1 with four shots on goal Saturday in a 4-3 overtime exhibition home loss to the Canucks.
There's no question this Canadian is a talented offensive producer -- he's amassed 613 points (287 goals, 326 assists) in 840 career contests -- but conservative fantasy owners tend to look past him due to his checkered injury history. Last season, with the Devils, he was plagued by a shoulder injury and only appeared in 61 games before getting bought out of his contract. The 35-year-old will travel with the team to China, facing the Canucks in Shanghai on Thursday and Beijing next Saturday.

Kings' Michael Cammalleri: Inks one-year deal with Los Angeles
Cammalleri signed a one-year deal with the Kings on Saturday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Cammalleri was placed on waivers by the Devils on Friday so they could buy out the remainder of his contract, which would have run through 2018-19. He will now play under a one-year deal with the Kings, coming off a 31-point season over 61 games with the Devils. He joins a group of forwards that failed to produce as expected last season, but it should still be an improvement from the New Jersey ranks Cammalleri played alongside.

Michael Cammalleri: Placed on waivers
Cammalleri was waived by New Jersey on Friday for the purpose of a buyout.
Despite recording a fifth straight season with 30-plus points, Cammalleri won't be suiting up for the Devils next year. Injury concerns likely played a part in general manager Ray Shero's decision, as the veteran has not played in 70 or more games since the 2008-09 season. Scheduled to cost $5 million a year through the 2018-19 campaign under his current contract, the center will likely clear waivers, but shouldn't have too much trouble finding a landing spot once the dust settles.

Devils' Michael Cammalleri: New Jersey risks loss of veteran
Cammalleri is an option for the Golden Knights since the Devils chose to expose him to the Vegas expansion franchise, theScore reports.
Cammalleri recently turned 35 years old and has two years remaining on a contract valued at $5 million annually. Once that expires, he'll be an unrestricted free agent. We suspect the Golden Knights will court several veterans in the expansion draft in order to be taken seriously in the the club's first year. Cammalleri is a journeyman of sorts -- 14 years of NHL service time split between the Kings, Flames, Habs and Devils -- and he seems like a good fit for Vegas based on his impressive totals with each of the aforementioned franchises. He's recorded 613 points (287 goals, 326 assists) in 840 career contests with a role on the man advantage every year of his illustrious career.
