Fiddler hasn't exactly thrived in playoff action over the course of his career, posting just 13 points with a cumulative minus-16 rating over 51 games. The Preds will hope that the move to Zolnierczyk invigorates the fourth line.

After sitting in the press box for all four games of Round 1, Fiddler drew into the lineup and came up huge for the Preds. The veteran logged just 8:51 of ice time and didn't play in any special-teams situations, so while his timely heroics made an impact Wednesday, it's probably safe to continue fading Fiddler in all fantasy settings going forward.

Fiddler only has three points in 39 games, so this may not make much of a difference for the Predators. Given the relative rosters of these two teams, it seems unlikely Fiddler will have a bigger role with Nashville than he had with New Jersey.

The injury prevented Fiddler from playing at all this month, but that will change Saturday as the Devils have reassigned Blake Coleman to the minors to make room for the veteran pivot on the fourth line. Despite averaging 12:08 of ice time per game, the center has been unable to write himself onto the scoresheet in his last eight appearances. In addition, the 36-year-old veteran's results in the defensive zone have been mixed, as he has a minus-6 rating in that span, but did block six shots and dish out 10 hits.

The Devils have not provided any additional details on the nature of Fiddler's injury, so his status Thursday against the Flyers should probably be considered questionable at best. Fiddler's a gritty center whose primary contributions this year have been PIM (21) and hits (34) rather than scoring. Unless you're in need of ancillary stats, you can likely leave the 36-year-old out of your fantasy lineups.

Fiddler got in a fight with Anaheim's Ryan Kesler in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Ducks.
It didn't take long for the two to drop the gloves, with just 30 seconds having elapsed in the first period. Fiddler's five penalty minutes from the fight were his only contribution to the box score, which shouldn't come as a surprise given the 36-year-old veteran's fourth-line center role.

Devils' Vernon Fiddler: Joins Devils
Fiddler signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Devils on Friday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
The 36-year-old will enter his 14th year in the league after most recently spending five seasons in Dallas. He'll provide added depth at center with Travis Zajac, Adam Henrique, and Jacob Josefson all likely ahead of Fiddler in the pecking order.
