  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Likely done for season

Hudler (lower body) isn't expected to play again this season, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.

Hudler hasn't provided a ton of offense for the Stars, collecting just 11 points (three goals, eight assists) over 32 tilts with the club. With only two games remaining in the regular season for Dallas, this shouldn't come as much of a loss for either the club -- which has been eliminated from playoff contention -- or the majority of fantasy leagues. Hudler finishes the campaign with a meager 27 shots on goal, a minus-3 rating and just four penalty minutes. The 33-year-old will enter free agency in the offseason and won't likely be a prime fantasy target in 2017-18.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Won't play Sunday

Hudler (lower body) will miss Sunday's tilt in Tampa Bay.

The veteran has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury, and will make it six Sunday. He'll get a shot at returning Tuesday against Arizona.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Out again Tuesday

Hudler (lower body) is a scratch for Tuesday night's away game against the Canadiens.

Hudler misses his third game in a row and does not have a timetable for return right now. Rookie Remi Elie could continue to see more ice time while Hudler remains on the shelf.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Unfit to play Sunday

Hudler (lower body) will not play Sunday, Sean Shapiro of NHL.com reports.

It's always disconcerting when a player is ruled out before game day, but so continues the nightmarish season for Hudler in his first go-around with Dallas. He's only played in 32 games, notching three goals with eight assists and a minus-3 rating.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Sits due to injury Friday

Hudler is out of the lineup for Friday night's contest against the Sharks due to a lower-body injury.

Hudler's injury-plagued season continues with Friday's late scratch. Between his inability to stay in the lineup and his limited production even when he is healthy, he is not a recommended fantasy play at this point in the season.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Starting to show up

Hudler had a goal and an assist in a losing effort against Boston on Sunday.

Hudler's had a rough season between illness and healthy scratches. He's only played 26 games and has been having his minutes limited. However, he has a goal and two assists over the last two games despite seeing only 23:27 of ice time between those two games. He's still a risk to roster, but might be worth keeping an eye on in case he starts to return to form.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Moved to press box

Hudler was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Capitals, as head coach Lindy Ruff searches for stronger play on the puck, Bill Nichols and Mike Heika of The Dallas Morning News report.

Hudler has managed just two goals and seven points this season, although both goals and five points have come over the past seven games. Apparently that wasn't good enough progress for Ruff. If you were considering Hudler in deeper fantasy pools based on the recent hot streak, Saturday's healthy scratch should splash cold water on that notion.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Extends point streak in limited time

With an assist against the Rangers on Tuesday, Hudler's point streak is at three games.

That's good, but he still doesn't look like the player most were hoping for when he signed in Dallas. He didn't take a single shot and saw only 10:24 of ice time. On the season, he's averaging less than a shot per game and has only seven points through 21 games.

  • Stars' Jiri Hudler: Posts multi-point night in top-line role

Hudler scored a goal and registered an assist through 12:30 of ice time during Monday's win over Los Angeles.

The veteran posted a top-10 finish in points just two years ago, and he hit stride Monday while skating on the No. 1 line. His fantasy value is in limbo because Jamie Benn's (foot) return could quickly bump Hudler to a supporting role again, but Monday's showing highlights Hudler's fleeting uptick in fantasy value. It could also represent a sign of things to come. In deep seasonal leagues, it isn't out of the question to make Hudler a speculative add. He's also a potential low-priced consideration in daily contests while receiving a top-line look.
