GM Don Sweeney confirmed that Liles is not in the Bruins' plans for the coming season, CSN New England reports.
The veteran blueliner will thus look to catch on with another team once free agency opens this weekend. Liles is coming off a 2016-17 campaign in which he logged five helpers in 36 regular-season games for the Bruins. At this stage of his career, Liles' fantasy value is modest, but the 36-year-old can still provide valuable blue-line depth and experience wherever he lands.

Liles collected two assists during Monday's Game 3 loss to Ottawa.
Boston scored three second-period goals, and Liles assisted on the first two. He was a regular in the press box throughout the season and played just 12:24 during Game 3, so don't let this offensive outburst fool you. Liles could return to being a healthy scratch in short order if the Boston blue line gets someone back from injury for Game 4.

Liles' concussion occurred when he crashed into the end boards during Sunday's tilt. The blueliner did not travel with the team for Tuesday's game, presumably to receive treatment. With Zdeno Chara ailing as well, the Bruins will likely look to Kevan Miller and Brandon Carlo to assume more playing time on the defensive end.

Liles finished up the 2015-16 season in Boston after being traded in February from Carolina.
