  • Andrew Ladd: Announces retirement

Ladd (knee) announced the end of his playing career Sunday. Ladd didn't play at all during the 2022-23 campaign due to a knee injury. The 37-year-old forward produced 256 goals and 550 points in 1,001 career NHL games across 16 seasons. Ladd won the Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006 and with the Blackhawks in 2010.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Fails physical, headed for LTIR

Ladd (knee) failed his physical Thursday and will be placed on long-term injured reserve, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Ladd's thrice surgically-repaired knee is evidently still an issue, and it appears as though he may be in danger of missing the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign. Ladd's in the last season of his seven-year, $38.5 million deal, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him formally retire after this campaign.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Solid in comeback campaign

Ladd (lower body) posted 12 points, 68 hits, 57 shots on goal and 47 PIM in 51 contests this season. Ladd was considered essentially out of the NHL prior to the campaign, but he earned his place with the Coyotes as a veteran presence. While the offensive numbers weren't all that great, he was able to play in his 1,000th game in April before missing the final four contests. He's under contract for one more year on the deal he signed with the Islanders in 2016, so the 36-year-old will probably continue in a bottom-six role in 2022-23 if he continues his playing career.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Out with lower-body injury

Ladd (lower body) won't play Saturday versus the Blues. Ladd joins a long list of injuries for the Coyotes. The team designated him as day-to-day, so he'll still have a chance to return as soon as Tuesday versus the Wild. Jan Jenik will likely enter the lineup in place of Ladd.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Earns helper in 1,000th career game

Ladd logged an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks. With his appearance Wednesday, Ladd reached 1,000 games played -- a mark that looked nearly impossible after he played just a combined 30 NHL contests across the three previous seasons. He celebrated the occasion against one of his former teams and picked up an assist to give him 550 career points. His first year with the Coyotes has been solid for a player limited to bottom-six minutes. Ladd has 12 points, 56 shots on net, 67 hits and 47 PIM through 50 outings this season.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Pots lone goal in loss

Ladd scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Canucks. Ladd was a game-time decision heading into the contest, and Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports the winger was receiving treatment after the contest, though he's expected to be fine. The 36-year-old Ladd has done alright in a bottom-six role through 47 games, picking up seven goals, three assists, 54 shots on net, 66 hits and 47 PIM this season. If he continues to be bothered by nagging injuries, he could be a scratch at times in the final two weeks of the campaign.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Set to play Thursday

Ladd (undisclosed) will play Thursday versus the Canucks. Ladd was deemed a game-time decision, but apparently the injury he was dealing with won't keep him out of the lineup. The 36-year-old should see some power-play time while logging bottom-six minutes at even strength.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Game-time call Thursday

Ladd (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Thursday's clash with Vancouver, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports. Ladd may have suffered a minor injury Tuesday against the Devils as he logged just 11:14 of ice time. If he's unable to go, it's unclear who would take his spot in the lineup as the Coyotes are dealing with a litany of injured forwards. The 36-year-old has just nine points in 46 games this season.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Back in action

Ladd (lower body) is set to play Thursday versus the Canucks. It appears Ladd's absence Monday versus the Blues was simply load management for a lower-body injury that cost him over a month. The 36-year-old winger will play in a bottom-six role.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Unavailable Monday

Ladd (lower body) is considered day-to-day and will not play Monday against the Blues. Ladd returned from an 18-game absence Sunday against Chicago and logged 15:28 of ice time. The veteran winger doesn't appear to be dealing with anything serious and it may be precautionary as the team is on the second half of a back-to-back. His next chance to play will be Thursday against the Canucks.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Returning Sunday

Ladd (lower body) will be activated from injured reserve and play Sunday in Chicago, Jose Romero of The Arizona Republic reports. The veteran has missed the last 18 games with the injury, but he's finally ready to roll. Ladd has only managed nine points in 42 games in his first campaign with the Coyotes and hasn't provided much punch from a fantasy perspective, so there likely won't be much here for managers to latch onto in the final month of the season.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Officially on injured reserve

Ladd (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Monday, per CapFriendly. Ladd is technically eligible to return at any time, but he's expected to be sidelined into late March at a minimum. He sustained the injury Feb. 20 versus the Stars, though the Coyotes haven't clarified much. Given the team's position in the standings, it will be in no rush to reincorporate Ladd into the lineup.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Out 4-6 weeks

Ladd will miss 4-6 weeks due to his lower-body injury suffered against Dallas on Sunday. Ladd has been plagued by injuries during his career, including missing the entire 2020-21 campaign. Given the length of his absence, the 36-year-old winger figures to be sidelined until late March or early April. Considering the British Columbia native has garnered just nine points in 42 games this year, his absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy players. Given his recovery timeline, Ladd should end up on injured reserve in the coming days.

Ladd had a goal in a 7-3 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Ladd had not found the back of the net in his previous nine contests, so beating Igor Shesterkin had to feel good. Ladd posted an assist and two PIM in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Avalanche. Ladd set up Johan Larsson's second-period equalizer. The 36-year-old Ladd has notched two goals and two assists in his last seven outings. The winger has often seen middle-six usage this season, racking up eight points, 39 PIM, 47 hits and a minus-5 rating in 27 contests. Despite a power-play role, his scoring output remains a bit too low to help fantasy managers in most formats.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Earns power-play assist

Ladd notched a power-play assist, four hits and two PIM in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks. Ladd set up Travis Boyd's power-play tally midway through the second period. The 36-year-old Ladd has points in three of his last four games. The veteran forward is up to five goals, two helpers, 25 shots on net, 43 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-7 rating in 24 contests. He's unlikely to score at a pace that would justify widespread fantasy attention.

  • Coyotes' Andrew Ladd: Nets power-play goal

Ladd scored a power-play goal on three shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 8-7 shootout loss to the Sharks. Defense was seemingly optional in this contest, and Ladd make his impact with the game-tying goal with 1:29 left in regulation. The 36-year-old is at five goals, one helper and a minus-9 rating in 22 contests. While he'll often be in the lineup for a rebuilding Coyotes team, he is likely to be limited to a bottom-six role, though he'll continue to see power-play time on the second unit.
