Tom Pyatt: Headed overseas
Pyatt agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Swedish side Skelleftea AIK on Friday.
After being waived by the Senators in January of 2019, Pyatt was traded twice, first to Vancouver then San Jose. Even with two additional opportunities, the winger was unable to earn his way back up from the minors. A move to Europe likely marks the end of the 32-year-old's time in the NHL, which would see him eventually retire with 43 goals, 58 helpers and 522 shots in 445 games.

Sharks' Tom Pyatt: Dealt to San Jose
The Canucks traded Pyatt and a 2019 sixth-round pick to the Sharks for Francis Perron and a 2019 seventh-round pick Saturday.
Pyatt has plenty of history at the top level, but he suited up for just 37 games last season for the Senators. After being dealt to the Canucks earlier this offseason, Pyatt is on the move again. Given the talent level on the Sharks' roster, the veteran will likely have his work cut out for him to earn a spot on the NHL roster.

Canucks' Tom Pyatt: Acquired via trade
Pyatt was brought in to Vancouver from Ottawa on Wednesday along with Mike McKenna and a 2019 sixth-round pick in exchange for Anders Nilsson and Darren Archibald.
Since Pyatt passed through waivers, Vancouver can assign him to AHL Utica, though he could get a look on the 23-man roster with Brandon Sutter (shoulder) still working his way back from injury. The 31-year-old Pyatt registered a paltry two helpers in 37 outings for the Senators this season, which led to him demotion and, ultimately, Ottawa's willingness to part ways with him.

Pyatt was a liability for the parent club, as evidenced by his stacking just two points (assists) against a minus-16 rating through 37 games. Still, the veteran potentially could be a fit for a different team needing help on the penalty kill.

The rugged winger has yet to tally a point in 2018-19 and remains mostly irrelevant fantasy-wise. Pyatt's career high for points in a season is 23, dating back to 2016-17. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has scored double-digit goals only once in his career, so there's no need to consider Pyatt for fantasy deployment.

Pyatt scored a goal and added an assist during Tuesday's 7-4 win over Tampa Bay.
This was the first goal in 23 games for Pyatt, and he had just two assists during that span. He entered Tuesday's contest averaging 2:04 of shorthanded ice time per game and starting 60.8 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the defensive zone, so Pyatt offers very limited fantasy upside.

Pyatt was forced to sit out Tuesday's clash with Dallas due to the flu, but appears ready to go against the Sabres on Thursday. The Thunder Bay native is currently bogged down in a 20-game goal drought, during which he has garnered a lone helper. Even though the natural center is currently sitting at 17 points, his lack of offensive production could see him fail to reach the 20-point threshold.

Senators' Tom Pyatt: Dealing with illness
Pyatt was held out of Monday's game against Dallas with flu-like symptoms, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Although it originally looked like a simple rest day for Pyatt, he'll take a night off to recover, and Max McCormick drew into the lineup in his absence. Pyatt has been particularly cold since the start of February, only notching one assist in 16 games, so perhaps the break will help him bust out of the slump. If the 31-year-old still isn't ready to go for Thursday's tilt against Buffalo, McCormick should continue to fill in on the fourth line.

Pyatt has scored two goals in his last six games, after only potting four in his first 41 matches.
The tallies were Pyatt's first since Nov. 24, effectively ending a 20 game goalless drought, and he now sits with 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) through 47 games. After getting off to a strong start to 2017-18 with nine points in his first 15 tilts, perhaps this will help spark the 30-year-old after the All-Star break, as he needs just seven more points to set a new career high.

Pyatt's assist Wednesday marked the first time he'd scored a point since Nov. 24.
Pyatt might have left his scoring touch in Sweden, as he's only posted three points since Ottawa returned home from Europe on Nov. 11. He's still on pace for a career high in points, but that's because his career high is a mere 23 points. Pyatt can be useful if he gets a streak going, but at the present time he should only be an option in the deepest of leagues.

Pyatt (ankle) signed a two-year contract extension with the Senators on Monday worth an average of $1.1 million per season, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Pyatt is coming off his first campaign with the Senators, where he played a full 82 games, posting 23 points (nine goals), 46 hits and 89 blocked shots. While he did miss a handful of postseason games due to multiple injuries, the Senators clearly don't see them as long-term issues and he should be good to go by the time training camp opens. Pyatt should continue to operate as a depth option, which may limit his overall upside.

Pyatt missed five postseason outings with an upper-body ailment, so it is uncertain when -- or how long -- this ankle malady was affecting him. Pyatt will reenter the lineup for Thursday's Game 4 against the Rangers, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
This will be Pyatt's first time playing since suffering an upper-body injury during Game 4 of the Sens' first-round series back on April 19. In the three games Pyatt has played during this postseason, he could be described as "invisible," with no points and just one shot on goal. Head coach Guy Boucher would not announce who Pyatt will replace, but all indications from morning skate point to Tommy Wingels being the odd man out.
