Kindl has sat out the last nine games as a healthy scratch.
The Cats are on fire right now having rattled off five straight wins, and the fact they've done it without Kindl in the lineup doesn't bode well for his chances to return anytime soon. With four points and a minus-12 rating across 28 games this season, Kindl's presence in the lineup likely wouldn't impact many fantasy owners, anyway.

Panthers' Jakub Kindl: Barely producing with big club
Kindl has just two points, 23 shots on goal and a minus-9 rating in 21 games this season.
The Czech rearguard hasn't done much since being recalled from AHL Springfield on Nov. 18, except for a modest 33 hits and 22 blocked shots. It shouldn't come as a surprise since Kindl had just two points in 19 games last year with the Cats, but you'd think that he'd be able to get in on the scoring a bit more often given his 14:49 of average ice time.

Panthers' Jakub Kindl: Recalled from AHL Springfield
Kindl was called up from the minors Friday.
Kindl has yet to appear in an NHL contest this season and may have been brought in simply to add depth after Alex Petrovic (lower body) was placed on injured reserve. Through 14 games in the minors this season, the blueliner has tallied one goal and six assists along with 16 PIM.

Panthers' Jakub Kindl: Demoted to minors
Kindl was sent down to AHL Springfield on Monday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Kindl has yet to suit up for the Panthers this season, instead having been a healthy scratch when with the big club. It briefly appeared that the 29-year-old was going to stick in the majors when the team waived fellow defenseman Steve Kampfer, but Kampfer has been kept in Florida, with Kindl the odd man out. It may not be the last we see of Kindl in the NHL this season, but until he can secure regular ice time, fantasy owners may want to pursue other defensive options for their lineups.

Kindl was recalled by the Panthers on Sunday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
The defenseman has three points in nine games in the minors this season, so don't expect an offensive explosion when he is up in the NHL. He'll likely provide solid depth for the Panthers, but won't be a huge fantasy player.

Panthers' Jakub Kindl: Sent to waiver wire Wednesday
Kindl was waived by the Panthers on Wednesday, Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel reports.
Kindl was acquired by the Cats at the trade deadline last February, but with new general manager Tom Rowe using free agency to court established defenders like Keith Yandl and Jason Demers, the writing was on the wall for a Kindl demotion. Perhaps the former Red Wing will get claimed by a team in need of an experienced defender.

Panthers' Jakub Kindl: Acquired by Panthers
Kindl was traded to the Panthers on Saturday for a sixth-round draft pick in 2017. According to Ansar Khan of MLive.com, the Red Wings will retain 15-percent of the defenseman's salary.
Red Wings general manager Ken Holland tried to dump Kindl and his $2.4 million annual cap hit via the waiver process on two separate occasions this season but was unsuccessful. Going the trade route might not have been the ideal scenario for the Wings given the 15-percent salary retainer, but sending Kindl to Florida still clears significant cap space for the club ahead of the Feb. 29 trade deadline. The Panthers need to upgrade their power play, which is ranked 27th in the league, and Kindl has experience in that area, having averaged more than a minute on the power play in his last four seasons.

Red Wings' Jakub Kindl: Unclaimed off waivers
Kindl will return to AHL Grand Rapids after clearing waivers on Wednesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Kindl was waived to make room for Niklas Kronwell who was activated off of injured reserve. The 29-year-old started the season as a regular contributor for the Red Wings, but has gotten on the ice in just eight contests since mid-November. Unfortunately for the defenseman, he has been unable to produce in the NHL, as he's totaled a mere six points in 25 outings.

Kindl was waived Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Niklas Kronwall (knee) was activated from IR on Tuesday, thus deeming Kindl expendable. This is second time this season that Detroit's sent the big blueliner to the waiver wire, with the first instance taking place in early January. According to Ansar Khan of MLive.com, he's been reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids to put the team under the salary cap.

Kindl heads to the minors since the Red Wings have activated veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall from injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's home game against Columbus. It's apparent that Kindl isn't a big part of Detroit's plans as he was waived in early January and his playing time in the NHL is currently dependent on the health of more established defensemen.

The 28-year-old defenseman has five points and 34 shots on goal through 23 games this season, making him a bit of a wild card for those looking for a cheap daily option.
