The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) federally regulates prediction markets. These platforms trade event contracts, allowing users to predict outcomes for real money. Event contract values can shift, and users can sell event contracts before markets settle. Here's a look at some of the available Florida prediction market apps for sports fans. How Florida prediction market pricing works

Prices for these event contracts can fluctuate over time, and users can sell their shares before an event settles. These outcomes are expressed via event contracts and pay out $1 for each successful contract. The pricing works the same in each available jurisdiction, which includes Florida.

For example, if a team is priced at $0.25 per event contract (sometimes expressed on prediction markets as 25%) to win a game and they win, the trader will receive $1 for every contract, for a profit of $0.75 per contract.

Kalshi

Polymarket US

The first-time qualifying deposit must meet the minimum deposit threshold, and then the bonus credit will be awarded. Bonus credits are non-withdrawable, but profits from settled trades are added to your account balance and can be withdrawn. If a trade settles at a loss, your existing collateral (deposited funds) is applied first to cover the loss, and any remaining bonus is still available for additional trades.

Upon expiration, the remaining Credit balance will be removed from your account. Any Credit supporting an open position at expiration will no longer be available for new position entry and will be removed when the position is closed, settled, or liquidated. 

The Polymarket US is available to Florida sports fans looking to trade event contracts for real money. Prices on the Polymarket US app are expressed in percentages, but the same principle for payouts applies. 

For example, if a team is at 90% to win a game, that's equivalent to a price point of $0.90 per event contract. If it wins, the profit is $0.10 per contract and the same $1 total payout per event contract.
