Arsenal are the last perfect team standing in the UEFA Champions League, collecting a commanding 3-1 win against Bayern Munich on Wednesday to bolster their case as the team to beat in this season's competition.
Jurrien Timber and Lennart Karl traded goals within 10 minutes of each other to ensure the teams would go into the halftime break level but the Gunners made the most of their opportunities in the second half, with substitutes Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli on the scoresheet. They snapped Bayern's undefeated run in all competitions to start the season, while Inter's perfect run in the Champions League also came to an end with a 2-1 loss at Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool, meanwhile, notched their fifth loss in seven games and in spectacular fashion, losing 4-1 at home to PSV. Things started on a sour note as a penalty was called on Virgil van Dijk after just five minutes and Dominik Szoboszlai scored an equalizer in the 16th minute, the onslaught was hard to stop. The Reds' defensive vulnerability stood out as PSV scored three times in the second half, a tally that included substitute Couhaib Driouech's brace.
The most chaotic match of Wednesday, though, took place in Paris, where reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain came from behind twice against Tottenham Hotspur for a 5-3 win. PSG's Vitinha got a hattrick and Spurs' Randal Kolo Muani notched a brace during a chaotic outing, which concluded with Lucas Hernandez's red card. Spurs have now conceded nine goals in their last two games, their defense making several individual errors en route to the defeat.
