Former UFC light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev is getting a new look. After Khalil Rountree Jr. pulled out of their UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday, Bogdan Guskov steps in with two weeks to prepare.
A lot has changed since Ankalaev dropped the title back to Alex Pereira nine months ago. Pereira is now a heavyweight, Carlos Ulberg is the injured champion, and Paulo Costa and Robert Whittaker are among the middleweight crop relocating to 205 pounds. Now, he must prepare for a complete challenge. Guskov hasn't faced a fighter of Ankalaev's caliber, but he's no joke.
"Hitman" is undefeated in his last five fights, including four stoppage wins. Most recently, Guskov went to a majority draw against former champion Jan Blachowicz, who also infamously fought Ankalaev to a draw.

One month later, one of the promotion's top stars returns, concluding a ridiculous stretch from UFC Freedom 250 to UFC 330. Islam Makhachev, prized pupil of Khabib Nurmagomedov, defends the welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry. The promotion's return to Philadelphia features a second title fight, women's strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern vs. Gillian Robertson.
