The wait is almost over as UFC opens 2026 on Paramount+ with a massive main event and the interim lightweight championship on the line. UFC 324 emanates from Las Vegas on Saturday night with the main card beginning at 9 p.m. ET as Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett are set to collide in a main event that will surely have the sports world talking by the time it concludes.

Gaethje and Pimblett are seeking to ascend as lightweight champion Ilia Topuria steps away from the sport temporarily, necessitating an interim champion in his absence. Gaethje, a former interim champion and two-time title challenger, is arguably the most exciting athlete UFC has ever seen. Pimblett backs up his big talk and hopes to parlay a victory at UFC 324 into an explosive grudge match with Topuria.

"I'm happy I'm the underdog and I'm happy to be fighting someone so confident with so much momentum behind them because one thing you must understand in this game is, I don't care how confident you are, you better be perfect," Gaethje told CBS Sports this week. "And he's going to make mistakes and I'm going to take advantage of his mistakes. I've said it before but I don't plan on being alive after Saturday night. I have to tell myself that he's going to kill me so that I can go into my most primal place.

"I love the pressure, I love the moments and I love the adrenaline -- it's the best drug in the world."

The card also features some former champions and rising contenders looking to make a splash. That begins in the main card opener when Jean Silva takes on Arnold Allen at featherweight. Silva is coming off a tough loss to Diego Lopes but remains a dangerous out for anyone in the 145-pound division. Plus, former women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas takes on a difficult test in the fast rising contender Natalia Silva. Big boys also support the main card when heavyweights Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Derrick Lewis collide. And former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley looks to get back on track when he faces the hard-hitting Song Yadong in the co-main event.

The action begins on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET after a pre-show at 5 p.m. There are now 11 fights scheduled to take place inside the T-Mobile Arena after some cancellations.
