Conor McGregor's return to fighting is nearly upon us. After five years away, the fight week feels of having McGregor headlining a card has arrived. McGregor takes on Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
A lot has changed since McGregor's last appearance in 2021 where he suffered a gruesome broken leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier. But what hasn't is the interest fans have in seeing what this version of McGregor will look like after all this time away. The Irishman became a two-division champion in 2016 when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez, but he has just one win in the time since.

Holloway, meanwhile, really hit his stride as a pro in 2016. He earned the interim featherweight title with a win over Anthony Pettis before unifying it with a TKO of Jose Aldo in Brazil. He followed it up with another TKO in the rematch before doing the same against Brian Ortega. Holloway chose to move up to 155 pounds in pursuit of greatness where he was outclassed by Dustin Poirier for the interim lightweight crown. He returned to featherweight to defend his title once more before dropping it to all-time great Alexander Volkanovski.
But even that doesn't scratch the surface of his activity. Holloway has fought eight times since the last time McGregor stepped foot in the Octagon, including an all-time knockout of Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 and an incredible win over Poirier in their rematch last July. Now, he looks for more revenge on McGregor, 13 years later.
