John Cena will wrestle his last match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on Dec. 13. But the honor to see who gets to face the star before his retirement must be earned, and so WWE superstars are currently battling in The Last Time is Now Tournament, with the winner ultimately becoming Cena's final opponent in Washington, D.C.

The Last Time is Now Tournament competition began on the Nov. 10 episode of Monday Night Raw and will continue on the two weekly main roster shows, leading into the fifth and final Saturday Night's Main Event of 2025.

Sixteen superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT competed for the unique opportunity to show Cena the door. Two superstars remain: former world heavyweight champion GUNTHER and longtime fan-favorite LA Knight. GUNTHER defeated Solo Sikoa, and Knight upset Jey Uso to secure their spots in the finals.

The tournament featured several twists and turns along the way. Two surprise entrants from Cena's past competed in the tournament. Zack Ryder returned for a one-off match on SmackDown, and Dolph Ziggler received a warm ovation for his match on Raw. The Miz lost his opening round match against Uso, but snuck back into the tournament after Sheamus pulled out with an injury.
