The 13th-ranked Michigan State Spartans and No. 8 Purdue Boilermakers both need to get rolling before the Big Ten Tournament, but one of them will suffer another setback Thursday night. The  Boilermakers (22-5, 12-4) have lost four of their past eight games, and Michigan State (22-5, 12-4) is 3-3 in its past six. Purdue had lost three in a row but seemed to have righted the ship before a 91-80 setback to then-No. 1 Michigan on Feb. 17. The Boilermakers then routed rival Indiana 93-64 last Friday. The Spartans have won consecutive games since that six-game stretch that included losses to Michigan and an OT victory against Illinois. The Boilermakers are 7.5-point home favorites in the Michigan State vs. Purdue odds, and the Over/Under for total points is 142.5. The SportsLine Projection Model really likes the Over in this one, as it hits in 72.6% of its simulations, good for a "B" grade.       

In the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs are looking for their 11th consecutive victory on Thursday when they visit the Brooklyn Nets. San Antonio (42-16) has closed the gap on the Oklahoma City Thunder, sitting just two games behind the Western Conference leaders while leading the Southwest Division. The Spurs are on a back-to-back after a 110-107 victory at Toronto on Wednesday, while the Nets (15-42) are on a five-game losing streak after falling to the Dallas Mavericks 123-114 on Tuesday. San Antonio is a 12.5-point favorite in the Spurs vs. Nets odds, and the SportsLine model has "B" grades across the board on its picks for this one.
