The Knicks and Pistons meet Friday as the top two teams in the Eastern Conference. Detroit made a minor addition at the trade deadline, bringing in former Bulls guard Kevin Huerter to bolster its 3-point shooting. New York was in the mix for Giannis Antetokounmpo but ultimately did not find a deal and instead brought in Jose Alvarado as a backup guard. New York has won eight games in a row and Detroit is on a three-game winning streak, so someone's run is about to end Friday night. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every game 10,000 times, foresees the Pistons covering 68% of the time and winning 61% of the time.

UConn has won 18 games in a row since losing to Arizona in non-conference play, which was the Huskies' lone setback this season. Their last two wins have come by a combined 69 points and Friday's contest against St. John's is likely to be their toughest remaining regular-season game. The Huskies have five players who average double figures led by Solo Ball (14.3 ppg) but their real strength is defense, which ranks fifth in KenPom efficiency. St. John's has won eight in a row heading into Friday's home game and has a fairly balanced offense as well with four players averaging double figures. The SportsLine model has the Over hitting in 62.1% of its simulations.
