The Timberwolves continue to show they're one of the better teams in the Western Conference while their next opponent, the Clippers, are trying desperately to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. Minnesota enters this matchup 36-23 and winners of six of their last 10. The Clippers are 27-30 and have lost two in a row after opening the second half with an upset win over the Denver Nuggets. L.A. currently holds a Play-In Tournament spot. These teams split their first two meetings, both of which came in Minnesota. Thursday's matchup is in Los Angeles, where the Clippers are 14-12 compared to a 13-18 road record. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every NBA game 10,000 times, has the Clippers winning in more than 50% of simulations at plus money.

Two of the best teams the Big Ten has to offer meet in what's far and away the game of the day in college basketball on Thursday. No. 8 Purdue hosts No. 13 Michigan State as both teams have their eyes on deep tourney runs. The Boilermakers (22-5, 12-4 in conference) rebounded from a loss to Michigan with a blowout win over Indiana, while the Spartans (22-5, 12-4) have won two in a row after a setback at Wisconsin. Purdue is third in the Big Ten in scoring and seventh in scoring defense, while Michigan State is fifth in scoring and third in scoring defense.
