HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) Joe Cremo scored a career-high 29 points, David Nichols added 17 points with four assists and Albany beat Colgate 74-66 on Saturday.
Cremo hit 9 of 14 from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range, and all nine of his free throws.
Jordan Swopshire's 3-pointer pulled Colgate (2-9) within three with 7:37 to play, but Devonte Campbell answered with a 3 to spark a 11-0 run that gave Albany a 62-48 lead with two minutes to play. Cremo scored seven points during that span and the Great Danes (6-4) made 10 of 12 free throws - including 4 of 4 by Cremo - from there to seal it.
Francisco Amiel, who had scored 36 points this season, led Colgate with 21 points, including five 3-pointers - both career highs.
Both teams shot 51 percent from the field, but Albany outscored the Raiders 19-9 from the free-throw line.
