NEW YORK (AP) Freshman Rasheem Dunn scored nine of his season high 24 points in overtime and St. Francis-Brooklyn topped Bryant 80-77 in the Northeast Conference opener on Thursday.
Dunn scored off the opening tip in overtime, broke a tie after Nisre Zouzoua's jumper with a 3-pointer and answered Zouzoua's trey with another, putting the Terrier's up 76-73 with 2:02 to play.
The Bulldogs closed within 78-77 on a Marcel Pettaway layup. Adam Grant, who forced overtime with a tip-in with three seconds left in regulation, couldn't convert through contact after Glenn Sanabria had missed a pair of free throws. Sanabria then made it 80-77 with two free throws at 10 seconds. Zouzoua's late 3 was off the front of the rim at the buzzer.
Sanabria finished with 13 points and seven assists for the Terriers (3-11), who ended a four-game losing streak. St. Francis went 10 of 38 behind the arc.
Zouzoua had 29 points but the Bulldogs (3-10), who were 2 of 9 from distance, dropped their fifth-straight. Pettway had 16 points and 10 rebounds
