EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) Elijah Long scored 12 points, and his two free throws with 28 seconds remaining lifted Mount Saint Mary's past Wagner 57-56 on Saturday.
Down 55-50, Wagner's Blake Francis made two 3s to give the Seahawks a 56-55 lead with 44 seconds to go. Michael Carey fouled Long who sank the free throws.
Mike Aaman missed a short shot for Wagner with nine seconds left and Mount Saint Mary's (4-11, 2-0 Northeast Conference) held on. Miles Wilson led the Mountaineers with 13 points and Junior Robinson finished with 10.
Wilson hit a 3 to tie the game at 10 with 9:38 left before the half, and from there the Mountaineers went on a 21-6 run and led 31-16 at the break. Wilson and Greg Alexander buried 3s and Robinson made six free throws after being fouled twice on 3-point attempts during the run.
Francis made a layup, and his 3 with 13:42 to play brought the Seahawks to within 39-33.
Corey Henson finished with 13 points to lead Wagner (5-7, 1-1), Francis had 11 and Carey added 10.
