College hoops fans get the chance to see a potential NCAA Tournament squad take the floor early Friday when Wright State travels to IUPUI for an 11 a.m. ET tip. Wright State is favored by six points, unchanged from the opening line.
Before locking in your picks for this matchup between teams you may not have seen play this season, you need to see what SportsLine's advanced computer model is picking.
Last season, the model was an impressive 755-636-20 on its A-rated picks, returning $6,529 to any $100 player who followed it.
That wasn't a fluke, either. With the NCAA Tournament just around the corner, the model is heating up. It was all over Kansas (-8.5) blowing out Oklahoma earlier this week and has nailed six of its last seven top-rated picks overall heading into Thursday. Anybody who has been following those picks is way up.
Now the model has simulated Wright State vs. IUPUI 10,000 times and locked in against-the-spread, over-under, and money-line picks.
We can tell you that Wright State gets several big individual performances, including 10.4 points from Jaylon Hall, 12.6 points from Grant Benzinger, and 15 points and 10.6 rebounds from Loudon Love. But will that be enough for the Raiders to cover the spread? The model has a pick for that you can only see over at SportsLine.
The model has taken into account Wright State's strong season that has the Raiders sitting at 21-8 overall and tied for first in the Horizon League standings at 13-3 in conference play.
They've won four of their last five overall and the key has been a stingy defense. The Raiders rank 29th nationally in scoring defense, allowing 65.7 points per game. IUPUI couldn't get any kind of looks last time these teams met as the Raiders knocked off the Jaguars, 60-52, in a late-December matchup.
But just because Wright State got the upper hand in the first meeting doesn't mean it will be able to go on the road and do it again.
IUPUI (10-17, 7-9) has found its stride late in the season, winning three of its last four. That run included victories over Oakland and Milwaukee -- two of the top five teams in the Horizon League.
The Jaguars are also 2-0 on the year against the spread as a home underdog.
So which side of IUPUI-Wright State do you need to be all over? Visit SportsLine now to find out which side of the IUPUI-Wright State spread you can count on over half of the time, all from the model that has crushed college hoops, and find out.
