  • Pelicans' Trey Alexander: Plays 21 minutes in season debut

Alexander chipped in seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and one block in 21 minutes during Sunday's 133-121 loss to the Lakers.

Alexander has spent the majority of his time this season with the Birmingham Squadron of the G League, but he was called up to the parent club due to the slew of injuries that the Pelicans are dealing with. In his season debut, he dropped seven points and drilled his only three-point attempt, showing his ability to produce, and he may be called upon again in the near future if Jordan Poole (quadriceps) and Jordan Hawkins (illness) remain out.

  • Pelicans' Trey Alexander: Leading scorer in SL defeat

Alexander contributed 25 points (7-13 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 25 minutes in Wednesday's 95-81 Summer League loss to the Thunder.

Alexander paced all scorers with 25 points off the bench, knocking down five shots from beyond the arc. He joined the Pelicans on a two-way deal this offseason after spending his rookie 2024-25 season in the Nuggets organization, where he logged 24 regular-season NBA appearances and averaged 1.3 points in 4.9 minutes per game.

Alexander agreed to a two-way contract with the Pelicans on Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

  • Nuggets' Trey Alexander: Limited run in rookie campaign

Alexander finished the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 1.3 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists across 4.9 minutes per game in 24 regular-season appearances.

The undrafted rookie out of Creighton joined the Nuggets on a two-way contract this season and saw inconsistent run in the NBA. However, Alexander made 30 regular-season appearances with the G League's Grand Rapids Gold, averaging 25.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals across 37.0 minutes per game. The 22-year-old is set to become a restricted free agent this offseason.

  • Nuggets' Trey Alexander: Rare appearance Tuesday

Alexander closed with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist over nine minutes during Tuesday's 122-110 win over the Grizzlies.

Alexander appeared for just the fourth time this season, logging a career-high nine minutes. While it's great to see a rookie getting some burn, there is no indication this is the start of a trend. Alexander should continue to be used sparingly on a team pushing for as many victories as possible.

  • Nuggets' Trey Alexander: Shines in SL finale

Alexander generated 19 points (8-10 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block across 29 minutes of Saturday's 91-82 win over the Pelicans in Summer League.

Alexander flirted with a double-double Saturday and shot 80 percent from the field. The undrafted rookie out of Creighton is on a two-way contract for the 2024-25 campaign but could be playing his way into a rotation spot after averaging 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game in Las Vegas.

  • Nuggets' Trey Alexander: Inks two-way with Denver

Alexander was signed to a two-way contract by the Nuggets following Thursday's second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.

The junior out of Creighton is a guard who likes to operate in pick-and-roll and navigate for mid-range jumpers. He needs to improve at the rim and from three, though, and he's not an especially good defender. Alexander will hope to develop with some time in the G League.
