Carter finished Friday's 130-120 win over Toronto with 23 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) seven rebounds, three assists and one steal over 35 minutes.
Carter scored 15 of his 23 points across the second and third quarters of Friday's game and finished as the Magic's third-leading scorer behind Desmond Bane (32 points) and Anthony Black (25 points). It was Carter's third 20-plus-point performance of the season and his highest scoring output since Dec. 18 against the Nuggets (26 points). He has averaged 12.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 threes and 0.8 blocks over 29.8 minutes per game since Jan. 2.

Carter (hip) will not suit up for Sunday's game versus the Pelicans, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
With Carter unavailable for Sunday's game, Goga Bitadze will have an opportunity to start and Moritz Wagner will help fill some of the reserve center minutes in his regular-season debut. After Sunday, the Magic don't play again until Thursday, giving Carter a full four days to rest his right hip.

After scoring eight points on 2-of-8 shooting during Sunday's loss to New York, Carter bounced back and delivered an extremely efficient performance in Tuesday's NBA Cup quarterfinals win. The big man also grabbed a game-high mark in rebounds, securing his first double-double since Nov. 18 and fourth on the campaign. While the 26-year-old isn't guaranteed to score in double figures on a nightly basis, his efficiency against Miami is encouraging after he shot just 31.8 percent from the field in his last three appearances.
