Spurs' Dylan Harper: Scores eight in Rising Stars loss
Harper had eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across nine minutes in Team Melo's 25-24 loss to Team Vince in the Rising Stars championship game Friday.
The 19-year-old guard led all players in points and tied the game high in rebounds during the championship game, though it wasn't enough to power Team Melo past VJ Edgecombe and Team Vince. Harper also hit the game-winning jumper over his older brother Ron Harper in the semifinals and finished with four points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one steal in Team Melo's 40-34 win over Team Austin.

Spurs' Dylan Harper: Chips in 15 off bench Tuesday
Harper finished with 15 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal over 27 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 136-108 win over the Lakers.
It was another strong effort from the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Harper has scored at least 15 points in four of his last six games, averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 boards, 3.8 assists and 1.0 blocks in 23.7 minutes over that stretch while shooting 62.7 percent from the floor. Stephon Castle checked out of Tuesday's rout early due to a pelvic contusion after a hard landing on a dunk attempt, playing only 12 minutes, and if he's forced to sit out Wednesday's contest against the Warriors, Harper will have a lot of DFS appeal.

Harper was added to the injury report Wednesday morning with a sore right ankle, and the rookie guard will wind up taking a seat for the contest. Harper was a late addition to the injury report for the front end of this back-to-back set. The 28 minutes of court time represented Harper's largest workload since Jan. 2, and the teenage rookie delivered strong overall numbers. The extra opportunity came while Stephon Castle (adductor) was sidelined, but Harper has been showing signs of growth even in his usual role. He's scored at least 15 points in three straight games and in four of the last seven, averaging 11.9 points, 3.7 boards, 3.6 assists and 1.0 blocks in 21.6 minutes over that latter stretch while shooting 59.0 percent from the floor.

Harper had an efficient performance from the field during Saturday's loss and was the only Spurs player to crack the 20-point threshold. The rookie first-rounder has been inconsistent with his scoring this season, as his scoring output Saturday was his most in a game since Jan. 2 against the Pacers (22 points). Harper will end the month of January having averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 21.3 minutes per game.
