Buddy Boeheim: Let go by OKC
The Thunder waived Boeheim on Friday, Andrew Schlecht of The Athletic reports.
Boeheim signed a non-guaranteed pact with the club Wednesday, though the move was likely just to acquire his G League rights. The 24-year-old is expected to join the Thunder's G League affiliate -- the Oklahoma City Blue -- for the 2024-25 campaign.

Thunder's Buddy Boeheim: Signs deal with Oklahoma City
Boeheim agreed to a contract with the Thunder on Wednesday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
The Thunder waived Alex Reese in a related move to clear a roster spot. With Boeheim joining the team so late, this is likely an Exhibit 10 deal, meaning the guard will probably end up with the Blue in the G League.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Notches 13 points
Boeheim finished with 13 points (4-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes during Sunday's 114-101 loss to the Pelicans.
Playing in just his third NBA game, Boeheim saw his biggest workload yet and set multiple career-high marks. The Pistons are dialing back all their main players and are being cautious with injuries given their place in the standings, so Boeheim could get an extended look down the stretch.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Gets two-way deal from Detroit
Boeheim agreed to a two-year, two-way deal with the Pistons on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Boeheim was previously with the Pistons on a two-way deal with the Pistons as a rookie in 2022-23, but he made only 10 appearances at the NBA level. He attended training camp this season with the Pistons on an Exhibit 10 deal, but after failing to win a roster spot, Boeheim linked up with Detroit's G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. Over his 36 appearances for Motor City, the 6-foot-5 wing averaged 14.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.1 three-pointers, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals in 24.3 minutes while shooting 41.8 percent from downtown.

Buddy Boeheim: Cut by Detroit
Boeheim was waived by Detroit on Saturday, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.
Boeheim spent the entire 2022-23 season as one of the Pistons' two-way players, but he appeared in just 10 games with Detroit and didn't distinguish himself enough at the NBA or G League level to stay under contract heading into his second professional season. By virtue of having re-signed with Detroit on an Exhibit 10 deal prior to being cut Saturday, Boeheim will stay in the organization and will head to the G League's Motor City Cruise.

Buddy Boeheim: Heads to free agency
Boeheim became an unrestricted free agent Thursday after the Pistons declined to extend him a qualifying offer for the 2023-24 season, John Schuhmann of NBA.com reports.
Detroit opened up one of their three two-way spots by allowing Boeheim to explore free agency. As an undrafted rookie out of Syracuse last season, Boeheim appeared in just 10 games at the NBA level and averaged 1.6 points in 9.0 minutes per contest.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Rarely sees floor
Boeheim closed his rookie season with averages of 1.6 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 9.0 minutes per game across 10 contests.
Boeheim was a filler piece for the Pistons down the stretch with most of their rotation players shut down. In limited action, the Syracuse product struggled from the floor, shooting just 18.5 percent from the field and 16.0 percent from three. The 23-year-old averaged 12.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 26.6 minutes per game over 18 appearances with the Pistons' G League affiliate during the regular season.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Back in rotation Friday
Boeheim recorded no counting stats in six minutes during Friday's 122-115 win over the Pacers.
Boheim played six minutes in the victory, just the ninth time he has seen the court all season. With the Pistons mailing it in for the season, managers should get used to seeing some weird and wacky rotations, meaning Boheim could remain in the rotation for the final game of the season against the Bulls on Sunday.

Boeheim logged 26 points (9-13 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 123-119 win over the Swarm.
Boeheim had been held to a single-digit scoring total in each of his previous three appearances, but he was productive during Motor City's final game before the All-Star break. He's averaging 11.5 points and 1.7 assists in 24.9 minutes per game this year.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Recalled to NBA
Boeheim is available for Wednesday's game versus Cleveland, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.
Boeheim will be with the Pistons on Wednesday as part of his two-way deal. However, he hasn't taken part in any action at the NBA level since Oct. 21, so there shouldn't be much to look at here from a fantasy standpoint.

Pistons' Buddy Boeheim: Returns to action in G League
Boeheim (toe) played 22 minutes Thursday for the G League's Motor City Cruise in their 127-117 loss to the South Bay Lakers, finishing with 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-11 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
Boeheim, one of the Pistons' two two-way players who has logged just one minute at the NBA level during his rookie campaign, hadn't played in the G League since Dec. 20 due to an unspecified toe injury. He looked to be on a light minutes restriction in his return to action Thursday but should see an uptick in playing time for Motor City now that he's gotten one game under his belt following a one-month absence. He'll remain on assignment in the G League while the Pistons play the Bucks on Monday, and Boeheim is unlikely to get an appointment back to the NBA team in the near future so long as Detroit has most of its key wing players available.
