Toledo Rockets, Ohio (AP) John Alan Richter threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns as Toledo scored 56 straight points in a 63-10 win over Central Connecticut on Saturday in the Rockets’ home opener.

Central Connecticut (0-2) took a 3-0 lead less than a minute into the game before Toledo (1-1) scored eight consecutive touchdowns.

Richter connected with Connor Walendzak for a 4-yard score and Rico Bond for an 85-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Bond finished with four catches for 135 yards.

Autavius Ison and CJ Miller added rushing touchdowns in the second quarter before Hayden Roy blocked a punt that Toledo recovered for another score, giving the Rockets a 35-3 halftime lead.

Richter added a 4-yard touchdown pass to Adjatay Dabbs in the third. Walendzak and Khamoni Robinson followed with rushing scores as Toledo stretched the lead to 56-3.

The Rockets finished with 569 total yards, including 313 passing.

Walter Moses closed Toledo’s scoring with a 40-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Rusk with 3:42 remaining. It was the first career touchdown pass for Moses and the first career touchdown reception for Rusk.

Central Connecticut was held to 139 total yards.

Central Connecticut: Visits Montana State next Saturday.

Toledo: Hosts Temple next Saturday.
