- Stephen Morris pulled ahead of Ryan Williams in the battle for starting QB at Miami and is on track to start the opener against Boston College. Miami released an updated depth chart after Sunday’s scrimmage. Other changes in starting jobs are: Ereck Flowers moved ahead of Seantrel Henderson at RT. WR Allen Hurns passed Phillip Dorsett. Olsen Pierre unseated Curtis Porter at starting DT, sophomore Thurston Armbrister moved past Jimmy Gaines at OLB, and S Kacy Rodgers is ahead of A.J. Highsmith.
- Georgia Tech also updated its depth chart. Changes to starting jobs include: Robbie Godhigh pulled ahead of Deon Hill at A-back. Both were even heading into camp. Jeremy Moore passed Chris Jackson at one WR spot. Ray Beno broke a tie with Bryan Chamberlain at LT and Will Jackson broke one with Shaquille Mason at LG. Izaan Cross is now the leader at one DE spot, and CB Rod Sweeting is ahead of Louis Young. Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution broke down the changes.
- CB Greg Reid has been accepted at Valdosta State but has not enrolled, CBSSports.com’s Chip Patterson reported. Reid was dismissed from Florida State’s football team two weeks ago for violating team rules. Chip also welcomed ACCSports.com’s Jim Young for his season preview podcast.
- It looks like Virginia will play Auburn in the season-opening Chick-fil-A Kickoff game in Atlanta in 2015. Nothing has been announced by game organizers or either school, but Virginia’s season tickets list future opponents and have “Auburn (Atlanta, GA)” listed in 2015. - Clemson walk-on WR Daniel Rodriguez, who’s a 24-year-old Army veteran, caught an eight-yard pass in Saturday’s scrimmage. He suffered a shoulder injury and will miss about a week of practice. OrangeAndWhite.com had the story.
