It's not unheard of for fans to name their kids after an athlete. It's rarer, and probably bordering on uncharted territory, for a coach to name his newborn son after not one but two of his former players.
That's what Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt has done with the birth of Flynt Anderson-Foster Pruitt. Yes, Anderson-Foster stands for something. The newest member of the Pruitt family was named after former Alabama linebackers Ryan Anderson and Reuben Foster. Pruitt, in addition to being the Tide's DC, coaches linebackers.

That's a strong message for Pruitt and his wife to name their new son after former players. Then again, Anderson and Foster were huge staples in the Crimson Tide defense over the past few years. Foster, a unanimous All-American and the Butkus Award winner, led the team with 115 tackles in 2016, while Anderson had 61 takedowns of his own. They were drafted in the first and second rounds by the 49ers and Redskins, respectively.
