Arkansas vs. Missouri score: Razorbacks cap impressive turnaround season with dominant win over Tigers
Arkansas got its first eight-win regular season since 2011 in coach Sam Pittman's second year
No. 25 Arkansas capped off a stellar second season under coach Sam Pittman with a 34-17 win over rival Missouri in the Battle Line Rivalry. The Razorbacks rushed for a whopping 262 yards and averaged eight yards per play against a Tigers run defense that came with the worst mark in the SEC entering Week 13.
An old-school slugfest in the first half sent the two teams into the locker room with Hogs up just 10-6. However, the Razorbacks came out firing in the second half. In addition to touchdown runs by Trelon Smith and Raheim Sanders, quarterback KJ Jefferson hit Treylon Burks for a big 52-yard touchdown over the top to create separation on the scoreboard.
Arkansas' defense, led by coordinator Barry Odom -- who coached Missouri from 2016-19 -- held the Tigers to just 316 yards. The only bright spot for coach Eli Drinkwitz' offense was running back Tyler Badie, who rushed for 219 yards and a fourth quarter touchdown in the loss.
The win sends the Razorbacks into the postseason with an 8-4 record -- their first eight-win regular season since 2011. Missouri falls to 6-6 on the season and will await its bowl fate on selection Sunday.
