Why Air Force can cover
Things may look bleak for the Falcons in Week 10, but they have a chance to keep Saturday's game competitive. Air Force's defense actually allows the fewest passing yards in the Mountain West (1,315) and fewest average yards per game (187.9). The Falcons will put plenty of pressure on Daily, who has barely eclipsed 100 yards per game on his own over the Black Knights' last two games.
The Falcons have held the Black Knights to fewer than 20 points in four of the last six meetings between these teams, including two meetings at West Point. Air Force has also had an extra week to recover from its 21-13 loss to Colorado State. See picks at SportsLine.
Why Army can cover
The Black Knights are 6-1-0 ATS this season, only failing to cover by half a point against ECU last time out. The Over has hit in five of their seven games this season as Army has scored 37 or more points all but once thanks to an offense that is sure to challenge an Air Force defense that lost a lot of the talent that got them to 9-3 last season. Daily, who is tied for 10th on the Heisman odds board, has thrown for 629 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while piling up 909 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground, ranking second behind only Boise State's Ashton Jeanty in that category.
Army's own defense is allowing just 12.4 yards points per game and leads the AAC with 281.9 average yards allowed per game. Junior linebacker Andon Thomas leads the team with 39 tackles while junior defensive back Casey Larkin has two interceptions for 22 yards, and they will cause trouble for Air Force quarterback John Busha who has a 1-5 TD-INT ratio this season.
