After 38 bowl games and the first College Football Playoff National Championship, it's time to honor the best performances with the 2014-15 CBSSports.com All-Bowl Team.
Offense
QB -- Cooper Rush, Central Michigan and Brandon Doughty, Western Kentucky, Bahamas Bowl (tie): It's impossible to not have one without the other. The two put on a show in the Bahamas Bowl with Rush throwing for 485 yards and seven touchdowns, while Doughty had 486 yards and five touchdowns. Rush threw five of his TDs in the fourth quarter that ended with the crazy, multiple lateral Hail Mary on the game's final play.
RB -- Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State, Sugar Bowl and CFP National Championship: Was there anybody better over the final month of the season? Not only did Elliott run for 230 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, but then followed that up with a 246-yard, four touchdown performance in the National Championship game over Oregon.
RB -- Kareem Hunt, Toledo, GoDaddy Bowl: With all due respect to Georgia's Nick Chubb (266 yards, 2 TDs) and Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon (251 yards, 3 TDs), it's hard to ignore Hunt's game against Arkansas State. The sophomore ran for 271 yards and five touchdowns, scoring on runs of 4, 44, 29, 1 and 6 yards in the 63-44 win.
WR -- Darren Carrington, Oregon, Rose Bowl: Despite missing the National Championship game, Carrington was a huge part of the Ducks' victory over Florida State. Carrington had seven catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns -- a 56-yarder and 30-yarder in the third quarter to break the game open.
WR -- Titus Davis, Central Michigan, Bahamas Bowl: Davis was on the receiving end of most of Rush's passes in the Bahamas Bowl, catching six passes for 142 yards and scoring four touchdowns. He scores on 21, 12, 23 and 20 yards.
WR -- Tommy Shuler, Marshall, Boca Bowl: Shuler was Rakeem Cato's favorite target against Northern Illinois, catching 18 passes for 185 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown in the 52-23 victory.
TE -- Maxx Williams, Minnesota, Citrus Bowl: Easily the best performance by a tight end during the bowl season as Williams finished with seven catches for 98 yards, including this double-hurdle touchdown.
OL -- Bryan Chamberlain, Trey Braun, Freddie Burden, Shaquille Mason, Errin Joe, Georgia Tech, Orange Bowl: The starting unit for the Yellow Jackets did a tremendous job against Mississippi State as Georgia Tech racked up 452 yards rushing and a 7.4-yard average in the 49-34 victory. Synjyn Days finished with 171 yards rushing and three touchdowns, while QB Justin Thomas added 121 yards and three TDs.
Defense
DE -- Houston Bates, Louisiana Tech, Heart of Dallas Bowl: Bates was a beast against his former team, recording six tackles, including 4.5 sacks in the victory over Illinois.
DT -- Grady Jarrett, Clemson, Russell Athletic Bowl: The senior had a career-high 3.5 tackles for a loss and a forced fumble in the 40-6 victory over Oklahoma.
DE -- Markus Golden, Missouri, Citrus Bowl: The MVP of the Citrus Bowl had 10 tackles, including four for a loss with 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble to help the Tigers beat Minnesota.
LB -- Darron Lee, Ohio State, Sugar Bowl and National Championship: Lee was a force for the Buckeyes defense recording seven tackles, including two sacks in the victory over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Lee then came through again against Oregon in the title game with eight more tackles, including four solo.
LB -- Jackson Dillon, Memphis, Miami Beach Bowl: The sophomore did a little bit of everything for Memphis, recording 11 tackles, two sacks and three tackles for a loss. He also forced a fumble to help the Tigers beat BYU 55-48 in double-overtime.
LB -- Marcus Mallet, TCU, Peach Bowl: Mallet led the way in the 42-3 thrashing of Ole Miss with 10 tackles, seven solo, one tackle for a loss and a forced fumble.
LB -- Jordan Pierce, Air Force, Idaho Potato Bowl: Pierce had a huge game, recording 10 tackles, nine solo, two sacks and three tackles for a loss in Air Force's Idaho Potato Bowl victory against Western Michigan.
CB -- Brian Poole, Florida, Birmingham Bowl: Poole led the Gators defense in the victory over East Carolina with four tackles, a forced fumble and a 29-yard interception return for a touchdown.
CB -- Xavier Woods, Louisiana Tech, Heart of Dallas Bowl: Woods had nine tackles and a 69-yard interception return for a TD in the victory over Illinois.
S -- Max Redfield, Notre Dame, Music City Bowl: Redfield had a huge game in the victory over LSU, recording 14 tackles, including 10 solo.
S -- Lorenzo Waters, Rutgers, Quick Lane Bowl: Waters was a big part of Rutgers' victory over North Carolina, recording 14 tackles, 10 solo and also recovering two fumbles.
Special Teams
K -- Joey Slye, Virginia Tech, Military Bowl: The freshman connected on four of his field goal attempts, hitting from 45, 49, 38 and 33 yards in the 33-17 victory over Cincinnati.
P -- JK Scott, Alabama, Sugar Bowl: Scott's punting performance against Ohio State was one for the ages. In seven punts, he hit five inside the 20-yard line, averaged 55 yard per kick and hit a long of 73 yards.
KR -- Adoree' Jackson, USC, Holiday Bowl: The freshman corner was a big spark for the Trojans, returning a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown in the victory over Nebraska.
PR -- Jamison Crowder, Duke, Sun Bowl: Crowder closed out his Duke career with a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown in the loss to Arizona State.
All-Purpose -- Leonard Fournette, LSU, Music City Bowl: Another freshman on this list, Fournette had a huge game against Notre Dame. He finished with 264 all-purpose yards, including 143 yards rushing on just 11 carries with a 89-yard TD run. He also had one of the biggest highlights of the bowl season, returning a kickoff 100 yards for a TD.
