Watchability: Set aside well over four hours to watch this one from start to finish. Georgia Tech shattered ACC records in last week’s 68-50 win over North Carolina, and Duke ranks right behind the Yellow Jackets in scoring offense. It may not be a basketball score this week, but it should be an offensive show.
Shining stars: Duke -- Wide receiver Conner Vernon can set two more ACC career records in the game. With one catch, he’ll extend his streak of games with a catch to 46, breaking a tie with former North Carolina receiver Corey Holliday. And with 35 yards, he’ll pass Peter Warrick (3,517) into first in receiving yards. Georgia Tech -- Quarterback Vad Lee has been getting more time in relief of Tevin Washington. He has at least 60 rushing yards in three of the last four games, including a season-high 112 last week, and he has rushed for two touchdowns in each of the last two games.
Who could steal the show: Duke -- Safety Jordon Byas leads the ACC with 11.3 tackles a game, despite not starting until the fourth game of the season. Georgia Tech -- Running back Robert Godhigh rushed for two touchdowns against the Tar Heels and also caught a touchdown pass.
You going? Ranking the road trip: The Yellow Jackets will be playing their final home game of the season, which means it’ll be Senior Day. Quarterback Tevin Washington, guard Omoregie Uzzi and defensive lineman Izaan Cross will be among the 12 seniors honored before the game.
Magic number for Duke: 66. The Blue Devils have gone 66 games without missing a PAT, the longest streak in the nation. They’ve made 177 straight PATs over that span, the second-longest streak, behind Texas Tech’s 202.
Magic number for Georgia Tech: 18. Last week’s win means that Tech extended its streak of consecutive non-losing seasons in conference play to 18, which is the longest active streak in the nation. A win Saturday will give the Yellow Jackets 16 straight winning seasons in conference, second-longest streak in the country.
The game comes down to: Execution. Someone has to win the Coastal Division. Duke controls its destiny. If the Blue Devils beat Georgia Tech and Miami, they’re the Coastal champions. Tech can still take the crown with a win over Duke and some help.
Prediction: Duke 35, Georgia Tech 31
