- Florida senior linebackers Jon Bostic and Jelani Jenkins are noticeably bigger and stronger than they were last year. The duo has 42 combined starts.
- James Stone and Alex Bullard are battling for the starting center job at Tennessee.
- Georgia's David Andrews is trying to replace a four-year starter at center.
- Perhaps LSU's Tyrann Mathieu isn't the best cornerback in the SEC. Some believe it's Mississippi State's Johnthan Banks.
- Alabama is trying to become only second team to repeat as consensus national champ in 57 years.
- Auburn OC Scott Loeffler likes how the offense is taking shape, but he isn't ready to name a starting quarterback.
- Texas A&M tight end Hutson Prioleau, who started four games last season and finished with 14 catches, has left the team.
