Update: Florida coach Jim McElwain told reporters after the game that redshirt junior quarterback Luke Del Rio will undergo surgery on Monday and miss the rest of the season with a broken collarbone. Del Rio improved to 6-1 as a starter for the Gators as Florida prevailed 38-24 against Vanderbilt on Saturday. He also led a come-from-behind victory last week at Kentucky as a replacement.

Original story
Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio was injured in the first half against Vanderbilt, heading to the locker room after an apparent shoulder injury. Del Rio was hit hard on a third-down pass and landed directly on his surgically-repaired left shoulder, which kept him out of spring practice and led in part to him losing his starting job ahead of the season.
Del Rio was just named the starter this week after coming into the game and leading Florida to comeback win at Kentucky. One week after getting benched, redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks was back with the first-string offense as Del Rio was taken away from the sideline for further examination.
Franks thrilled fans just before halftime by reestablishing his deep post connection with Tyrie Cleveland on a 49-yard pass to set up a game-tying field goal just before halftime. With Del Rio not returning to the field out of halftime, it appears to be Franks' game.
