Some people just really know what they like and sometimes it gets them in trouble.
Georgia announced on Friday that defensive end Chauncey Rivers has been dismissed from the football program. The reason for Rivers' dismissal? He was arrested for marijuana possession, which when viewed as an isolated incident, isn't really a big deal. The problem? It's the third time Rivers has been busted with weed since November 2015.
Three tokes and you're out.
"It's extremely disappointing," said Georgia coach Kirby Smart in a statement. "He's been given previous opportunities to remain on our football team but continues to exhibit a lack of good judgment and commitment to the standards we require and expect from our players. He's put himself in a difficult position but we hope he finds a path that will provide some direction in his future."
Rivers was originally arrested with teammate Natrez Patrick for marijuana possession in November. As a result, both players were suspended for Georgia's game against Kentucky. Rivers was then popped again in December before getting arrested a third time in May.
Rivers, a four-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite and one of the top 150 players in his high school class, played in four games as a freshman at Georgia last season. He was already facing a three-game suspension to start the 2016 season due to his prior arrests.
