Western Kentucky will be watching you watch it during next week's home game against UTEP. That's because Hilltoppers mascot Big Red has gotten his way as it pertains to their "Red Out" uniforms.
On Thursday, Western Kentucky dropped a video debuting its new Big Red uniforms. In the past, the Gritty-esque mascot has been featured on the helmet, but now the new threads have transformed the players into Big Red from head to toe.
The most unique part of the Tops' new uniform are the helmets, which are completely red except for Big Red's eyes. The facemasks will also be black, meant to signify Big Red's mouth, according to WKU's press release. So if you're wondering whether Western Kentucky is staring at you during its game against UTEP, don't adjust your screen.
It will be the first time that WKU rocks the all-red helmets since the mid-2000s.
It's good to see Western Kentucky get a uniform win after in-state rival Eastern Kentucky spoiled the Hilltoppers' "White Out" earlier this fall by refusing to switch from its road white jerseys.
